I’m sure you have seen the announcement of the dates for the next Winter Music Conference (March 24 - 28) in Miami Beach, Florida (USA).
As the past conferences have been mixed emotions, we haven’t made up our minds yet whether we should go next year or not… we will keep you posted.

It’s not to often these days that you get new music for review or club play sent on CD as most producers or labels prefer sending out MP3 (or sometimes lossless formats such as WAV or AIFF) files.
When you then get a CD which is broken, this definitely won’t make your day…
(this example is "Join the Disco ride" (Unreleased Mixes) by Direct Disco on Purple Tracks Records)

Just got remembered of a rare Heller & Farley Remix of Ann Nesby’s "Witness" released on the "AM:PM WMC 98" sampler which seems to be a rather rare double-pack promo…
It took me a while to track this down in the basement, but after almost two hours I finally found it…

In February 2007 I wrote about a movie called "The Godfather of Disco" here. Unfortunately I never had the chance to watch this movie about the legendary Mel Cheren (who sadly passed away in December 2007).
Thanks to the generosity of director Gene Graham I got my personal DVD copy of this documentary. Now, after having the chance to watch it, I highly recommend this documentary as it gives you a great inside on the history of Disco. Hopefully a DVD release of the movie will soon be available.
