What a way to start Sunday off… receiving an email with subject Notification of problem domains…
Upon investigation, I found out that the traffic limit on one of my domains had been heavily exceeded. Looking at the access logs revealed that a single IP address was responsible as for the past two days, the same mix has been pulled over and over again…
So what else than blocking this IP from accessing the site? The downside is that this IP appears to be a (caching) proxy of a internet provider, so potentially more than just the responsible user is now blocked.
But until the internet provider reaches back and explains what happened, the block will stay in place.

Well, yesterday I said I’m not going with Vista… but another day came, and I had to realise that my Windows XP installation died after just one day due to some driver conflict…
Now the question was whether to try to fix this, or to do a clean re-install… So I decided to give Vista a go.
Now lets see what the next day will have for surprises for me… (I hope none as I still have to do the Short Reviews update…)

I’m sorry for the delay in the promised Short Reviews Volume 7. But yesterday I felt my PC is way to slow so I ordered some new equipment… ok, its not needed for daily work, but when editing my High Definition satellite TV recordings the power is definitely needed (I’m not the most patient guy…).
Guess what, I couldn’t wait in setting things up, which took (and still takes) some time as I have to reinstall Windows XP (no, I’m not going for Vista).
Ok back to work now… it will be a short night as I want to set things back up…

Oh my… we are kind of behind with reviewing some albums we’ve got in the past few weeks:
- Steven Stone "Entering my world" (Pino Music Records Mixed Album)
- Simon Starr "Blue lights to Saturn" (Simon Starr Music Records CD)
I try to write the reviews this week. And there might also be some interviews in the near future, as well as the promised Fresh Grooves Classics Volume 17.

Just got remembered of a rare Heller & Farley Remix of Ann Nesby’s "Witness" released on the "AM:PM WMC 98" sampler which seems to be a rather rare double-pack promo…
It took me a while to track this down in the basement, but after almost two hours I finally found it…

Yes, thats right - Tuesday will be movies day with a back-to-back pre-premiere of The Mummy: Tomb Of The Dragon Emperor and The Bank Job. I’m aware that these movies play for some times already in certain parts of the world, but unfortunately we are always somewhat behind here in Switzerland…
Anyway, this looks to be lot of fun with the first movie starting at 6pm, then some free drinks (and hopefully food too) offered, with the second movie starting at 9pm…
A welcome break from my day time job and my Spirit of House commitments…

In February 2007 I wrote about a movie called "The Godfather of Disco" here. Unfortunately I never had the chance to watch this movie about the legendary Mel Cheren (who sadly passed away in December 2007).
Thanks to the generosity of director Gene Graham I got my personal DVD copy of this documentary. Now, after having the chance to watch it, I highly recommend this documentary as it gives you a great inside on the history of Disco. Hopefully a DVD release of the movie will soon be available. You can find the official homepage of the movie here.

Today is the Swiss National Holiday which means work is off - and guess what, after the weather had been good all week, it turned bad over night, with temperatures down and rain showers every now and then…
So I decided to go down to the basement and look through my boxed records to get some ideas for a future Classics Mix. I came across some long forgotten classics such as "Can’t get over your love" by Simphonia, the Tony Humphries remix of "Human" by The Reese Project, "I’m your brother" by Round One, "Night moves" by Rickster or "Time (time to party)" by Gary L to name just a few. So expect a new Classic Mix soon…
