We are delighted to inform you that we successfully migrated to the latest version of Joomla! . Even though we've tested things before, there might still be some glitches here and there... in case you find one, please repor them to us by
We hope you like the new layout. At first, it might look a bit small, but this ensures it looks good on smaller screens (such as those 10" 1024x600 ones used in the so popular Netbooks).
Next we will bring the galleries with the pictures from the Winter Music Conferences back. Unfortunately, we have no exact date yet when the blog and links sections will be back. Please accept our apologies.
Regards,
Administrator

We would like to inform you that Spirit of House will be undergroing maintenance soon as we plan to update Joomla! (the content management system used on the site) to the current version. We also plan to bring a fresh look to the site at the same time.
Unfortunately, this will have a temporary impact on some of the features of the site:
- the "Gallery": we will replace the gallery system with a new one - we believe this is the right way to go for the future.
- the "Blog": the current blog system won't work under the new Joomla!, so we are evaluating options to replace it with something else.
- "Weblinks": we are currently using a replacement for the standard Joomla! links module which won't work neither. Evaluation of altnerate solutions is underway.
The main features - reviews, mixes, charts - are not affected by this maintenance.
Regards,
Admin

-
your mailbox is over quota (you need to delete some unneeded mail before you can receive new ones)
-
your email address is invalid (you might have changed it, but did not update your registration for the newsletter)
-
receiving mail from spiritofhouse.com is not allowed by your provider or hosting company (maybe they think the newsletter is spam)
Please note that we removed all users from the database with invalid email addresses (this step was taken after we've got several error messages back stating that your mail address is invalid).

During the holidays, I made up my mind about the future of Spirit of House. I've been doing it for way over a decade now, and to be honest, I'm burned out to some degree. But on the other hand I do love music from the bottom of my heart, so I just can't give it up...
So I was thinking how can I keep it going while making sure it does not eat up all of my free time (remember that I work a full time job) and burns me out even more. Changes were inevitable, but I tried to keep them as small as possible - here is the list:
- The fundament will be weekly updates (usually late Saturday) as you are used from the past
- These weekly updates will include mixes and reviews
- Selected releases only (the "Picks") will get individual reviews, the rest will be reviewed in one block (similar to the "Short Reviews" I've done past year)
- More "Spotlight" reviews are planned to give special exposure to new/rising talent our outstanding products
- No more "Short Reviews" as they are now part of the regular reviews

We decided to replace the old links section with a brand new, much user friendly one. Over time we will migrate the weblinks from the old section.
You can add links on your own (go here), but they have to be approved by us before they become visible. We would like you to know that we have raised the bar and will not accept every submission (it is within the decision powers of the editors which links will be accepted).
