During the holidays, I made up my mind about the future of Spirit of House. I've been doing it for way over a decade now, and to be honest, I'm burned out to some degree. But on the other hand I do love music from the bottom of my heart, so I just can't give it up...
So I was thinking how can I keep it going while making sure it does not eat up all of my free time (remember that I work a full time job) and burns me out even more. Changes were inevitable, but I tried to keep them as small as possible - here is the list:
- The fundament will be weekly updates (usually late Saturday) as you are used from the past
- These weekly updates will include mixes and reviews
- Selected releases only (the "Picks") will get individual reviews, the rest will be reviewed in one block (similar to the "Short Reviews" I've done past year)
- More "Spotlight" reviews are planned to give special exposure to new/rising talent our outstanding products
- No more "Short Reviews" as they are now part of the regular reviews

What can DJs for Obama do? Host parties and events in the biggest or best places that you can for your fans and supporters. Definitely have a party election night and monitor the election returns as they come in. As many of our elders can recall where they were when JFK was elected, we too will all want to remember this historic night! Ask your people to show up in Obama gear, even if they have to make it for themselves with crayons or lipstick. Create mixes and release them for free encouraging your fans to vote. Invite your local media too! We need all kinds of support for this moment in our history. |

We decided to replace the old links section with a brand new, much user friendly one. Over time we will migrate the weblinks from the old section.
You can add links on your own (go here), but they have to be approved by us before they become visible. We would like you to know that we have raised the bar and will not accept every submission (it is within the decision powers of the editors which links will be accepted).

We just wanted to let you know that we have cleaned the subscribers list to our Mailing List.
All subscribers where we have received multiple bounces which stated the recipient mailbox does not exist, is discontinued or anything similar have been deleted. If you have a new email address you want the newsletter to be sent to, please sign up again.
There are also quite a few subscribers with full mailboxes where the newsletter cannot be delivered.
