Ron Trent & Quentin Harris featuring Cordell McClary "Happiness" (Need 2 Soul Records 12")

"Happinss" is the first collaboration of Ron Trent & Quentin Harris for the new Need 2 Soul label that will be all about quality house music (like it's parent club night). It is a fantastic slice of deep house music featuring an outstanding latin guitar and uplifting vocal performance by Cordell McClary alongside Ron Trent's melodic and deeply stormin' bass movements and Quentin Harris' sweeping synth lines, the result being absolutely outstanding and irresistible combining the unique sound of the two. With both vocal and instrumental versions to choose from, this will become an instant classic not to be missed.

United People of Zion featuring Regina "Moment with U" (CR2 Records 12")

"Moment with U" is available on the "United Nations of House Sampler" on CR2 Records. The track is produced by Elman & Yaron Trax and features Regina on vocals. "Moment with U" is an uplifting production featuring a soulful vocal over a smoothly stompin' groove that is enriched with melodic keys and a funky rumblin' bassline. Remixes of the track are currently in the works, with fresh material to watch out for as well.
 

Mr. A.L.I. featuring Carla Prather "Rainy day" (WestEnd Records 12")

Mr. A.L.I. (aka Jere McAllister & Vick Lawender) continue to release soulfoul house gems on a regular base. Taken from the forthcoming Mr. A.L.I. album, "Rainy day" is a gentle, jazz infused garage production featuring the soulfoul and passionate voice of Carla Prather over a smoothly groovin' backing of sweet percussion, mellow keys, muted horns and acoustic guitar that create a fantastic laidback deep house feeling.
 

Dwele "I think I love you" (Reel Soul Mix)(Bootleg 12")

This bootleg is titled Raw Tune Cuts Vol. 2 "Out of the blue" mixed by Doube-U-R-3, but it is with no doubt a soulful house interpretation of Dwele's "I think I love you", believed to be courtesy of William Rodriguez (ReelSoul). This reworking takes the r&b song to another level by turning it into a piece of timeless soulful garage that is spreading an uplifting feeling.
 

Exlusive Preview: Alicia Keys "Stolen moments" (Jaycee Remixes)(CD-R)

This is as fresh out of the studio as it possibly can as DJ Jaycee just finished these remixes. Alicia Keys' "Stolen moments" is a wonderful mellow and laidback song in its original form that is transformed for the dancefloor in a soulful way featuring a sweet percussion loaded groove as base on the smoothly thumpin' 'Garage Version' while the 'Broken Version' makes use of fierce broken beats.
 

Scott Wozniak featuring Ambrosia "Talk to me" (Space Kat Records 12")

After putting out a couple of bootleg mixes and the "Soho sessions EP" on Large Records, Scott Wozniak returns with a full vocal production featuring singer Ambrosia on Space Kat Records. "Talk to me" is featuring a lovely vocal performance together with a gorgeous bassline and melodic keys that give the track an uplifting feeling with a funky edge.
 

Lisa Shaw "Cherry" (Naked Music Records 12")

It has been quiet about Naked Music this year, with this being just the 2nd 12" releease for the label in 2005. "Cherry" by Lisa Shaw comes in various flavors, starting off with Eric Stamile going for a leftfield electro interpretation. Jay Denes delivers a signature deep and mellow reworking while Miguel Migs goes for a west coast influenced bass heavy take. Lastly Scott Hardkiss gives it an european electro house flavor.
 

Urban Soul "Love is" (KingStreet Records 12")

The Roland Clark written and produced "Love is" by  Urban Soul is getting a soulful retouch courtesy of Japan's A Hundred Birds and Tomoaki Inoue. A Hundred Birds give the song a groovy and deep feeling with a jazzy touch, letting the vocals add some sexy flavors. Tomoaki Inoue goes for a classic piano line and elegant strings over a thumpin' house groove, giving the song a laidback feeling.
 

Runner-Up: Fuzion featuring Viola Sykes "Don't give up" (Deepa Grooves Records 12" Test Pressing)

Deepa Groove Records have a beauty in their hands here that grows and grows with every listen, courtesy of George Mena & Franke Estevez who team up under their Fuzion name, featuring singer Viola Sykes (best remembered for her timeless classic "Little girl") who provides an inspirational vocal performance over the powerful yet soulful musical backing that features a stormin' groove alongside warm melodic keys, giving the song an uplifting feeling. The dub version is firing things up with laminar keys that add an irresistible vibe to the track.
 

Franck Roger "We walk to dance (Album Sampler)" (Seasons Limited Records 12")

This sampler features three tracks from Franck Rogers' forthcoming album "We walk to dance". Kicking off is the title track "We walk to dance", a deep and groovy affair with wicked organ hooks and a deep bassline. "Get out of here" is a midtempo jazz house track reminiscent of St. Germain, while "Hear on earth" is a broken beat affair featuring lush jazzy keys, giving the track a laidback feeling.
 

Exlusive Preview: DJ N-Joy Project "Everybody" (DC Records CD Promo)

DJ N-Joy, one half of 2 DJs AT WORK, presents this funky house track that is driven by a simple female vocal hook that is placed over a stompin' groove that is enriched with a funky guitar riff and melodic keys on the 'Club Mix', while the 'Dub Mix' is orientated towards peaktime play with electrofied keys and fewer vocals.
 

The Todd Terry Trilogy "Past, Present & Future" (Distinctive Records 3xCD, 10x12")

 Image Todd Terry has been a key player in the house music scene for almost twenty years, now he releases his definitive (?) collection. On the 3xCD release, this compilation features most of the key Todd Terry tracks mixed by the man himself on the first CD, while the second CD features selected classics (Jungle Brothers, Swan Lake, Royal House, Todd Terry Project among others) and the third CD is a selection of his more recent works. Also available are ten 12" singles featuring both the classics as well as the fresher material.
