DJ Shaheer Williams featuring Michael Watford - FaithBack in 2007, DJ Shaheer Williams and legendary vocalist Michael Watford joined forces on "Faith", a marvelous soulful jewel having timeless written all over (released through Soul Groove Records), now this unforgettable classic returns in truly phenomenal remixes. First up we have Ricky Morrison who contributes both a beefed-up re-edit of the original version as well as a remorseless vocal dub that is pure energy, with Michael Watford's unrivaled vocals being accompanied by lush synth melodies and merciless rhythms. Next up is David Anthony who takes the song straight to the church on his uplifting gospel driven interpretation which features background vocals from the one and only Lisa Millett alongside grandiose jazzy keys, glamorous chords and spell binding rhythms.

DJ Pope featuring Una - And then somePOJI Records has been going from strength to strength in recent months, the labels streak of success is guaranteed to continue with the upcoming release by DJ Pope and house music diva Una. Most definitely "And then some" (written by Harold 'Big Ed' Mathews and Bernard Badie) is a masterly orchestrated masterpiece, with a spell binding broken beat flavored percussive backdrop leading the way for grand jazzy keys, enticing chords, classy horns and Una's unrivaled deeply rooted vocals. The remix courtesy of Sean Ali & Munkjulious takes the song to the next level, combining Una's wonderful vocals with tantalizing keys, heavenly chords and and enthralling rhythms.

Compton - Bristol BoogieEnd of 2011, Andy Compton graced us with the fabulous soul/funk/funk project "Compton's Soul", now he returns with a brand new and entirely different Compton project entitled "Bristol Boogie". This awe-inspiring album is on an eclectic old skool flavored boogie soul tip, featuring retro analogue synths to give the sound an authentic 80's vibe. Similar to the previous Compton project, an illustrious list of renowned vocalists such as Celestine, Katie Leone, Ladybird and Sabrina Chyld and highly talented musicians such as Andy Barton (keys) and Jeff Bass (bass) are featured, not to forget to mention the collaboration with Cape Town soul producer Leighton Moody. Most definitely, "Bristol Boogie" will bring back memories of the one-of-a-kind 80's boogie sound and its many unforgotten classics, quite simply this seminal album is guaranteed to make you yearn for more...

Unity through Sound ADE 2015In October of last year, renowned producer and DJ N'Dinga Gaba launched his brand new label Global Diplomacy Productions with the phenomenal "Unity through Sound Volume One" sampler, now right in time for this years ADE (Amsterdam Dance Event) the label has the next breathtaking sampler ready. Kicking things off is N'Dinga Gaba's superb mix of "Beautiful" by N'Dinga Gaba & Jaidene Veda featuring Josh Milan, a track on heavy rotation at the Spirit of House office ever since the song first appeared on Jaidene Veda's latest album "Wanderlust". Next up are previously unreleased, truly outstanding interpretations of tracks originally heard on last years "Unity through Sound Volume One" release: the PM Project remix of "Dreaming of you" by N'tuso featuring mOsno, the Spellband remix of "Jewel in my hand" by Groove Cartell featuring Kafele Bandele, the Sweet x Sour remix of "Build" by Rescue Poetix and N'Dinga Gaba, the Federico Luyo remix of "Tembaco" by Troy Denari and N'Dinga Gaba and the Jazzuelle remix of "These days" by Saara Maria and N'Dinga Gaba. Abstract Jazz Vibes Volume 3Beyond the shadow of a doubt, NiteGrooves Records truly bless us with volume three in their ever popular "Abstract Jazz Vibes" series. To cut right to the chase, this latest installment is a marvelous absolutely breathtaking and eclectic selection of ingenious, unforgettable tracks (not less than twenty in total). The list of artists is truly illustrious and includes Ananda Project, Anthony Nicholson, Groove Box, Kerri Chandler, Monday Michiru, Nick Jones Experience, Homero Espinosa, Boyd Jarvis, Masters at Work, Joe Claussell, Brian Mc Dermott, King Britt and many more. Highly recommended.

Funkadelic featuring Kendrick Lamar - Ain't that funkin' kinda hard on youEnd of 2014, legendary 1970's p-funk combo Funkadelic (led by the one and only George Clinton) returned in grand style with the long player "First Ya Gotta Shake The Gate", now house music maestro Louie Vega has added his magical touch to one of the albums standout tracks, namely "Ain't that funkin' kinda hard on you". The result is simply mind-boggling, taking the track straight to the dance floor yet keeping the spirit of the original alive, blending soulful house grooves with Funkadelic's original p-funk instrumentation, George Clinton's pimpadelic vocals and the slick vocal stylings of Kendrick Lamar. You can choose from multiple vocal, instrumental and dub versions (and some radio edits too), with some of the mixes featuring guest appearances from Pee Wee Ellis and Fred Wesley on the horns, and Kafele Bandele on trumpet. For the vinyl aficionados, there is a 12" out on Vega Records featuring two of the mixes.
