Best of the Rest

We are getting so many promos sent each and every week that many of them never get reviewed here on Spirit of House (for various reasons nota bene). However, as we want to make sure you are well informed what is happening, we have introduced this section where, every now and then, we will highlight other noteworthy releases...

The legendary Tony Humphries is back as an artist with the ingenious "Housework". Two tracks are featured, both guaranteed to send the floor on fire: the ruthlessly stompin' "Oh Adam" which features mesmerizing organ stabs alongside gospel tinged vocals, and the hypnotic reinterpretation of "Charlie Sez" which gives front porch music played in the South a refreshing twist (Tony Records CD Promo). Circle of Funk present the breathtaking "Walking in Circles EP" which features two equally massive utterly mesmerizing and melodious deep house gems perfect for late night or early morning play (Slapped Up Soul Records CD Promo).

To make it short, the inebriant "Uroboro" EP by Italian duo Mephia & Andrum features two sure-fire dance floor weapons entitled "Uroboro" and "A quiet journey" - both tracks are amazing late night flavored tech-soul gems destined to send the dance floor into a frenzy. Comes complete with an innovative remix by Luka  (FOMP CD Promo). Mauritzio & Eric Daniel join forces for "Stone code", a truly mind-blowing slice of deep house music, with irresistibly thumpin' rhythms leading the way for entrancing sax, lovely flute and empyreal keys. The alternate 'Departmental Mix' gives the track a deeper more intense feel (Cabana Recordings CD Promo).

From mastermind Aphreme comes the amazing "Heavenly" EP which takes you on an exhilarating journey to deepest melodious grounds - the gentle yet contaminous rhythms together with the enchanting synth melodies and the sweet vocals on the title track are guaranteed to make you yearn for more (Cyberjamz Records CD Promo). But this is not all as Aphreme has another slammin' release ready: the eclectic three track "House Music EP" features three brilliant tracks which bring back the beloved house music sounds from yesteryear referred to as 'old school' these days (Octave Moods CD Promo).

We are closing this weeks update with Shino Blackk and his wicked re-imagination of the Kraftwerk classic "Trans Europe Express" which stays true and respectful to the original yet gives it a fresh truly fascinating contemporary feel (New Generation Records CD Promo).
