PolyRythm featuring Jah L. Rainey "Force of nature" (Soul Sun Soul Music CD Promo)
Up and rising DJ's/producers David Jonez and Val Carrique are going from strength to strength with their recent releases, and their latest offering "Force of nature" where they team up with poet and spoken word artist Jah L. Rainey is no exception. With "Force of nature" they present an ingenious slice of afrotastic deepness laced with amazing spoken poetry and delectable synth melodies perfectly arranged over deep and smooth yet infectious percussive rhythms - a future underground anthem guaranteed to cause a stir on the floor. Not to forget to mention that the vocal, dub, instrumental and beat versions included in the package give you plenty of options to work the floor.
Lady Alma "Running for nothing" (Solid Ground Records CD Promo)
Lady Alma's "Running for nothing" was originally released in early 2009 on Raw Fusion Records, thanks to our friends at Solid Ground Records this beautiful Mark De Clive-Lowe produced tune now returns with fresh remixes. First we have Danny Clark & Jay Benham serving a classy old school flavored rework, followed by Groove Assassin's superb deep take featuring celestial keys and chords. Next is Seb Skalski who turns the track into a gospel tinged affair completed with a feel good piano. Also included are the Simbad and Universal Sun (Mark De Clive-Lowe & Chris Cox) mixes from the 2009 release.
Vick Lavender "1929" (Sophisticado Records CD Promo)
The saga of phenomenal releases on the unrivaled Sophisticado label continues with the newest offering by label head Vick Lavender. The title track "1929 (el barco esta navegando)" is another choice production oozing with the vintage sound Vick Lavender and his Sophisticado family are celebrated for, and the stellar keys by Vijay Tellis-Nayak and arrangement speak for themself. Then there is the 'Ambient Mix' of "1929" which is all about the keys - simply marvelous. Also included is "The time traveler (escapism thru dreams)", an equally paramount production on a broken beat vein that is all about a second to none musicianship.
Sterling Ensemble featuring Donna Allen "I got love" (Sterling Blue Music CD Promo)
Sterling Ensemble present a musical gem with "I got love", an outstanding production impressing with the keyboard wizardry by Albert S. Menendez and the unmistakable vocals by legendary diva Donna Allen. The original version is an uplifting affair spreading a fiery sun drenched feel, and on remix duty we have Aaron Ross who deepens the vibe on his captivating rework fueled with atmospheric melodies, while Fuzion (Franke Estevez & George Mena) deliver a melodious rendition built around a stompin' backdrop and wicked keys.
Lemon & Herb feat Moonchild "Velani" (Ocha Mzansi Records CD Promo)
Earlier this year, Ocha Records launched their brand new sub label Ocha Mzansi which aims to bring us the latest fresh, inspiring, infectious house music vibes from the creme de la creme of producers and artists in South Africa. "Velani" by Lemon & Herb is the third release for the label (the second one was "I wanna love you" by Lulo Cafe featuring Northende), and not many words are needed to describe this masterpiece: "Velani" is an ingenious slice of afro deepness featuring grandiose refreshing vocals by Moonchild alongside luscious melodies over thrilling rhythms. And make sure you closely follow Ocha Mzansi in the future and don't miss out on this jewel.
Dutchican Soul featuring Mavis Acquah and JoLeon Davenue "Ecstacy" (Drum Mode Records CD Promo)
"Ecstacy" by Dutchican Soul features a heavy line-up of artists including singer Mavis Acquah, rapper JoLeon Davenue, sax player Saxy Mr. S and pianist Tom Erics - altogether they deliver a sexy production spreading an uplifting feel through the soulful vocals, catchy melodies and smooth yet moving backdrop. Dave Mayer strips back the vocals on his kickin' funked-up version, while Dwight Brown turns up the heat on his bass heavy workout laced with gorgeous melodies. Finally, there is a slammin' dub by D-Reflection sure to become a peak time favorite, and as a bonus you also get a lovely edit of this dub by Dave Mayer.
Soulplate featuring Charmaine "Move you" (Pole Position Records CD Promo)
With "Move you" by Soulplate (Chris Beck & Kim Virdi), Pole Position present an incredibly soulful slice of deepness. The laidback 'Soulplate Midnight Mix' uses a deeply thumpin' backing as playground for sensual vocals by Charmaine and lush keys and chords, while the 'Prang Beats Mix' is a deep fiercely groovin' affair complete with luscious melodies. Next is the warm organic 'CRB Original Mix', followed by Antonio Santana's stripped back funked-up remix. Lastly, Oli Furness goes utterly deep on his somewhat moody version.

It's time again to bring you a selection of the best bootleg edits and mixes we got in recent weeks... First up Mike & Tess delivers an intoxicating mash-up of the instrumental version of the fantastic "Everyday" by Ziggy Funk & Yass with the acapella of Julie McKnight's 2002 classic "Home". Next we have Soul'N'Vibes & Hgm taking on Ledisi's "Raise up" (lifted from her current album "Pieces of me") and rework it into a deep'n'groovy four-to-the-floor affair that stays respectful and true to the original. Then we have something a little different as Sebastien Grand takes on "Sexy MF" by Prince and The New Power Generation (from their 1992 "Love Symbol album") and turns this funky monster jam into a serious 4/4 stomper that is sure to set the floors on fire. Last but no least, we have Dave K blessing us with his re-rub of "Put your hands on me" by Joss Stone (from her 2007 album "Introducing Joss Stone"), taking her unmistakable voice to new heights on his deep laidback interpretation.

First up is Maurice Joshua's imprint that will release the super soulful "Feel for you" by up and rising DJN Project, complete with delicious remixes by Maurice Joshua and Davidson Ospina & Oscar P keeping the vibe soulful. The labels debut release "Find a way" by Maurice Joshua featuring JV returns in deep underground-esque remixes by Davidson Ospina & Oscar P, and they also prepare an eclectic remix package of Mmelashon's amazing "Children of the ghetto" - label head Maurice Joshua's beautiful rendition will make you yearn for more.

Open Bar Music is the second label showcasing their upcoming releases with a truly hot sampler which is kicked off by Oscar P & C. Scott's respectful 4/4 interpretation of the seminal MFSB classic "(Love is) the message". Distant People team up with Nicole Mitchell for soulful bliss on "Make me over" here included in the deeper Sole Essential Mix, while Tinozz & Poetic give us a laidback soulful beauty titled "Intoxicated". CB Masters team up with Harold Brendon for the masterly orchestrated "Rain falls", while Mecca Digital Hi-Fi and singer David Walker bless us with the timeless soulful gem "Thinking about tomorrow". "So lonely" by KqueSol & D.O.O.P. featuring Shatti returns in fresh remixes by Booker T, and there will be also some floor shakers in the form of "Hear the sound" by Tovar featuring B. Original and "My way" by Squicciarin.
