Picks of the Week

Yohan Esprada featuring Lorena "L'ebullition d'amour" (Cabana Records CD Promo)

Yohan Esprada featuring Lorena - L'ebullition d'amour What a jewel we've got here courtesy of Yohan Esprada and Cabana Records. The old school flavored "L'ebullition d'amour" features sensual vocals of Lorena and glorious keys and chords over a percussively thumpin' groove, altogether creating a mesmeric feel. But it doesn't end here as the the remixes by the likes of Justin Imperiale, Aphreme, Soletek, Fiso da Costa, Yal, Logan Dataspirit and Housadiction cover different grounds to let you enjoy this marvelous song in its full glory. This is sheer musical bliss - essential.

Fabrizio Colasanti featuring Black Man Soul "Father & brother" (Spirit Sound Records CD Promo)

"Father & brother" by Italy's Fabrizio Colasanti is a gorgeous production featuring amorous vocals courtesy of Black Man Soul alongside delicious keys and chords over a deep yet laidback old skool flavored groove, taking you back in time to the early days of house where it all started (makes me think of  timeless classics such as "Join Hands" by Taravhonty from 1987). One not to be missed.

Kelly Price "Secret Love" (SoS Re-Edit)(CD-R)

Mark Jordan blesses us with a delightful interpretation of the wonderful "Secret love" by Kelly Price (taken from her 1998 long player "Soul of a woman"), and similar to his previous re-edits he keeps the original vibe intact and stays respectful to the original version while giving the song a smooth yet captivating four-to-the-floor touch - truly one for the soulful heads.

Logicalgroove featuring Leon Beal "Ready for the nightlife" (Gotta Keep Faith Records CD Promo)

Logicalgroove (aka Pablo DJ) teams up with singer Leon Beal to present the uplifting "Ready for the nightlife", a powerful yet soulful funk soaked production featuring passionate vocals alongside funky guitars and luscious melodies over a contagious backing. The various mixes in the package (including a main room friendly remix by Amorhouse & Fennel) give you plenty of plenty of choices to work the floors.

Blast from the Past: Blaze "So special" (Tony Humphries Remix)(Motown Records Promo 12", 1990)

This track is taken from their revolutionary "25 years later" album which they recorded for Motown Records. These remixes by Tony Humphries have never been released commercially which is a shame as they took this beautiful song to a whole new level.
