Exclusive Preview: ChrisIDH & zOGRi featuring Amera Light "Summer in Greece" (Consortium Muzik Records CD Promo)
|The 'Deep Dub' of "Summer in Greece" has been included in the marvelous "The Gift" collection released on Consortium Muzik back in December, now the label graces us with the full single release. ChrisIDH and zOGRi team up with singer Amera Light for a delicious slice of deep soulful house featuring sensual vocals, beautiful piano and great atmospheric melodies over a laidback groove. Abicah Soul goes deeper and gives the track a distinct moody touch complete with techy bleeps. On the deeply rumblin' 'Distant Mix', DJ Hypnosis extends the atmospheres for an ambient-ish sounding, while his 'Tone Down' remixes a pure deep tech-soul bliss.|
Exclusive Preview: Nikos & Rocco featuring Tony 'Sache' Wilkins "If you ever need a friend" (CD-R)
This wonderful production by Nikos Mavrommatis and Rocco has been a favorite of mine since receiving it back in March 2007. Then, a couple of weeks ago, an announcement promised a July release (interestingly it came from a different label than the one sending the promo in 2007...). "If you ever need a friend" is deep and laidback, featuring an outstanding vocal by Tony 'Sache' Wilkins alongside gorgeous keys and chords, altogether creating a compelling feel. Mr. Cubanix' 'Secret Sunset Remix' oozes with warm synth melodies and a groovy backdrop, giving the track an uplifting summery feel.
Jay 'Sinister' Sealee and Louie Vega starring Julie McKnight "Bittersweet" (Part 1)(Atal Records CD Promo)
Atal Records bless us with something quite different yet very fresh and interesting. Featuring the unmistakable voice of Julie McKnight alongside a beautiful guitar and sweet synth melodies over a fierce yet smooth backdrop, the Jay 'Sinister' Sealee produced "Bittersweet" takes you on a journey to explore new grounds. Various tasty versions to choose from, including a wonderful reprise and a wicked 'Barrio Groove' version that intensifies the vibe.
Born to Funk "Let ur spirit go" (SoulFuric Trax Records CD Promo)
Netherland's Born to Funk present a relentless dance floor stomper titled "Let ur spirit go" featuring cool vocals, afro-tastic chants and phat synths over a mesmeric tribal tinged backing. Hardsoul pump the vibe up for peak time action, while Samir Maslo takes the track to the main room on his remix. Souldynamic deepen the vibe and give the track a jazz-funky feel, while lastly Born to Funk's deep 'Savannah Dub' mixes are on a laidback yet hypnotic tip.
River Ocean featuring India "Love & happiness (yemaya y ochun)" (David Penn 2009 Remix)(Strictly Rhythm Records CD Promo)
20 years ago, Mark Finkelstein and Gladys Pizarro founded Strictly Rhythm, and although being out of business for a few years, its one of the leading house music labels to this day. To celebrate this monumental birthday, the label will release new mixes of selected classics. First up is a David Penn remix of "Love & happiness (yemaya y ochun)" by River Ocean, an unforgettable 1994 anthem produced by Louie Vega. David Penn serves an up-beat rework with added keys and contemporary beats that stays respectful to the timeless original.
Exclusive Preview: Weysa Dya "Subliminal" (CyberJamz Records CD Promo)
With "Subliminal", Weysa Dya presents the follow up to her previous smash hits "Connected minds" and "Deep house meditation", and what a gem this is. The poetic spoken words are infectious, combined with a contaminous broken beat styled backing and lush keys on the 'UK Broken Mix' by Ribeirinho & Blackwax (aka Ryan Covill and Steve Reed). Rob 'Solid Noize' Temple keeps the overall feel on a broken tip on his 'Caribbean Mix' while giving the track a warm summery feel thanks to jazzy keys and a percussion enriched groove. Lastly Ronnie Ron takes the track to deepest grounds on his thumpin' 'Cyber Dub Mix' loaded with phat chords and synths.
Jay Tripwire featuring Boddhi Satva "Dema" (Remixes)(Grooveland Music Records CD Promo)
Hot on the heels of the original mixes comes this massive remix package of Jay Tripwire's "Dema" (which features African chants courtesy of Boddhi Satva). Lars Behrenroth goes as deep as it gets to turn out a hypnotic rework, while Delano Smith delivers a mellow interpretation fueled with lush atmospheric melodies. Steve Soulbasic contributes a ruff deep house re-rub with phat chords, followed by Martijn's minimal tech-house take. Last but not least you also get a fiercely stormin', somewhat dirty funktified remix by Jota Wagner.
T.D.J. "With you" (White Lotus Club Records CD Promo)
We haven't heard from White Lotus Club Records for almost a year, but now they are back with T.D.J. who present "With you", a sun drenched production on a laidback tip featuring sweet female vocals and warm melodic keys over a deep funked-up backing. The 'T.D.J. Remix' is firing things up and features captivating synth melodies over a stompin' groove, while Bucher turns the track into a mesmeric tribal affair. Completing the package is Christos Kessidis with his deep hypnotic soul-tech rework.
