Bobby Trenton featuring Silvio Gigante "Strange taboo" (Daddy Funk Records CD Promo)
The original version of "Strange taboo" by Bobby Trenton and vocalist Silvio Gigante is a marvelous laidback slice of jazz-funk flavored soul guaranteed to make you yearn for more. Black Sonix (aka Justin Stride) enters deepest territory with his hypnotizing version laced with grand synth melodies, while 60 Hertz Project contribute a delicious laidback interpretation featuring lush keys over a funk drenched backdrop. The package gets completed by Miguel Mancha's broken beat styled version which is truly something special.

Not much needs to be said about the wicked "I Got Something EP" by Germany's Alex Agore besides this is an incredible deep house release bringing back memories from back in the day with its old skool inspired melodies and deeper than deep, laidback yet infectious rhythms. What you get are four tracks of (as the label says, and they are certainly right) unadulterated deep house music.
Hennings Project featuring Daryl Strodes "Can't wait" (soWHAT Records CD Promo)
"Can't wait" is a collaboration between Hennings Project and singer Daryl Strodes who present a super soulful production featuring sultry vocals and jazzy keys over a smooth yet spell banding backing. Avi Elman (under his UPZ disguise) relaxes the vibe down on his exquisite soul-funk drenched rendition, followed by the 'Shisanyama Dub' by Hennings & UPZ which gives the track a distinctive deep afro feel. Finally, Ricky Inch delivers a funked-up dub built around a pumpin' backdrop sure to rock the floor.

"La libertad" by highly talented Spanish singer/musician/producer Pablo Fierro is simply the best latin/samba infused four-to-the-floor production we've heard in years. Room 806 "Darkness EP" (Atal Music CD Promo)
South African newcomers Room 806 score big with their "Darkness EP" featuring three equally slammin' productions. First up is the somewhat moody title track "Darkness" featuring sensitive vocals by Holi and luscious keys over a deeply thumpin' backing. Next is smoothly groovin' "Sea shore" featuring melodious keys and chords over a warm groove, followed by the laidback "Self discovery" which is all about the grand jazzy piano.
Wil Milton "Oya's dance" (Blak Ink Music CD Promo)
With "Oya's dance", Wil Milton presents a relentless afro-cuban flavored production using fierce drums and percussion as playground for wicked organs, jazzy sax and atmospheric synths which altogether create a hypnotic feel guaranteed to cause a stir on the dance floor. Then there is the 'Sacred Flute Mix' which - you guessed it - features a classy flute solo and is a great alternative to the main version. Also included are the stripped down 'Simply Marimba Mix' and a beats version.

Here we have a great tribute to Stevie Wonder's "Signed, sealed, delivered, I'm yours" which dates back to 1970. Producer/DJ Alex Dimitri and singer Raf Passiante impress with their very own yet truly respectful four-to-the-floor interpretation of this classic. Fabio Tosti serves an uplifting gospel tinged version, while The Pipesmokers transform the original version into a fiery dub sure to jam-pack floors.
