SoundMen on Wax present a gigantic release with "Do you believe" courtesy of Gregory Purnell who impresses with an outstanding r&b styled performance, featuring none less than twelve massive mixes. Kalim Shabazz gives the track a deep old school underground feel, Temple Movement (Ruben Toro & Adam Rios) deliver a warm organic workout, Wipe The Needle (Mikael Nybom & Lee Gomez) enter deepest grounds on their mesmerizing somewhat dark remix, DJ Rico contributes two spanking afro influenced mixes, Kevin Julien serves an uplifting piano driven reworking and finally we have Latest Craze (Michael Gavrilidis & Peter Massa) with heir truly melodious versions.
Groove Junkies featuring Indeya "You know how to love me" (Part 2)(MoreHouse Records CD Promo)
Back in September, we were celebrating the Groove Junkies and songstress Indeya's homage to the wonderful "You know how to love me" by the one and only Phyllis Hyman, now part two has landed features fresh remixes by Richard Earnshaw and Dave Doyle. First up we have Richard Earnshaw who delivers a timeless piece of soulful house music with his classic interpretation laced with grand piano and hammond organ over a funk soaked backing, followed by Dave Doyle who turns the track into a peak time favorite which perfectly combines a edgy backdrop with the soulful vocals.
Exclusive Preview: Junior K "Labour of love" (MuSol vs Junior K Club Mix)(CD-R)
"Labour of love" is a hit single by Hue & Cry (Scottish duo/brothers Greg and Pat Kane) which dates back to 1987 - interestingly, it showcases a somewhat funky sound that was much different than their later ballad releases. Junior K is about to release a cover version of the song, complete with this slammin' soul-funk drenched four-to-the-floor rendition by MuSol which is guaranteed to spread a feel good vibe on the floors.
EnaWadan "Forever" (Ocha Mzansi CD Promo)
Ever since Ocha Mzansi saw the light of the day, the label has amazed us with their inimitable releases, and their latest offering "Forever" by EdaWadan is no difference. Only few words a needed to describe this gem: "Forever" is an ingenious slice of inspirational house featuring touching vocals and a unique instrumentation over relentless percussive rhythms you can't resist to dance to. The package includes the main version, a 'Club Edit' with less drop outs and a cool edit by Timmy Regisford who adds his signature Shelter touch.

One month after the original release, Smooth Agent present the AtJazz remixes of "Darkness into light" by Tomson which features the vocal talents of Thembeka. Martin Iverson aka AtJazz delivers a visionary remix which takes Thembeka's silky smooth vocals to a whole new level as he delivers an incredible slice of deep house oozing with luscious melodies and smooth yet contaminous rhythms. Beside vocal and instrumental versions, there is an uber cool dub included as well.
TL Cross "Best kept secret" (The Remixes)(Jack 2 Jazz Records CD Promo)
"Best kept secret" by TL Cross (Lavar Antoine Wilson) is an outstanding r&b/soul song released in 2007 through Expansion Records which now has been picked up by Jack 2 Jazz Records who commissioned the likes of Abicah Soul, Dolls Combers, Pirahnahead, MixkidMuzik and Jack 2 Jazz to remix the song for the soulful house floors. The result is truly impressive, with each of the interpretations staying respectful to the original while oozing with an exquisite soulful four-to-the-floor feel. This one is not only for the soulful heads but for everyone looking for timeless soulful music.
DJ Le Baron featuring Deepvoice "Live your life" (Part 1)(Deeptown Music CD Promo)
DJ Le Baron makes his debut on Swiss label Deeptown Music with the uplifting "Live your life", a soulful production featuring passionate vocals by Deepvoice, grand jazzy piano and killer saxophone over a smooth yet fiery funk drenched backdrop. This first part of the release includes the main vocal version, a tasty instrumental edit putting the piano and saxophone center stage, an incredible remix by the Dolls Combers oozing with a delectable organic jazzy edge, and finally The Deepshakerz contribute a fresh modern take on Disco with their tech-soul flavored 'Nu Disco' rework.
JCS featuring Patsy Fuller "Undecided" (2011 Mixes)(Part 2)(Love House Records CD Promo)
Two weeks after introducing you to the first part of the 2011 mixes of Jeremy Sylvester and Patsy Fuller's underestimated take on the jazz standard classic "Undecided", part two is here featuring more fresh mixes, this time by DJ Ski and Undertone. DJ Ski serves a groovy underground-esque re-rub with a wicked funky twist, while Undertone delivers two illustrious dubs oozing with a classy old school vibe.
Various "Regroove Edits Vol 16" (CD-R)
DJ/producer Regroove blesses us with volume 16 in his edits series which - to put it into a few words - is sheer musical bliss. First we have his take on "Time is now" by Lips which is deep and as smooth and laidback as it gets, taking the sensitive vocals by Bongi Mvuyana to the next level. Then there is his interpretation of the 1993 classic "Underground" by System VIII featuring the legendary Josh Milan on vocals, combing the accapella from the original vinyl from 1993 with sublime keys and smooth as silk rhythms.
Lpizzicato & Nanau featuring Nicole Mitchell "Still love you" (Amati Records CD Promo)
With "Still love you" by LPizzicato & Nanau, Amati Records present a gorgeous soulful production featuring heartfelt vocals by the one and only Nicole Mitchell alongside beautiful jazzy piano and lush synth melodies over a stormin' funk drenched backing. The 'Club Mix' introduces dramatic synths and deepens the vibe while giving the track a more laidback feel, and last but not least we Rob Hayes turning the track into a fierce, uplifting funked-up affair sure to rock the floors.
Infected Soul "Senseless melodies" (CD-R)
What would this weeks update be without some vibes from South Africa... So here we go with "Senseless melodies" by Mpilwenhle 'Infected Soul' Cele, a track using infectious rhythms as playground for warm keys and chords which altogether create a mesmerizing feel sure to set the dance floor on fire. We are certain to here more from this talented producer in the future...
Luis Radio & Raffa Scoccia "Organismo" (BBE Records CD Promo)
When we listened to "Organismo" by Italy's Luis Radio & Raffa Scoccia for the first time when it was included in Louie Vega's Mad Styles and Crazy Visions 2" compilation earlier this year, we were instantly blown away by its contaminous percussive tribal rhythms and the paramount organ solo sitting on top of it. Finally, this wicked track is about to get a full release in December, complete with additional versions. Jam-packed floors guaranteed...
