Danny Clark & Jay Benham featuring Andrea Love "Call it done" (Solid Ground Records CD Promo)
|What can we say... this label is getting stronger and stronger with every release... For the third release on their own Solid Ground label, Danny Clark and Jay Benham team up with Chicago diva Andrea Love to present the uplifting anthem "Call it done" that is guaranteed to bring the sun to your heart. The original is a timeless Disco-Funk infused jewel oozing with soulful vibes from beginning to the end, taken to deepest grounds on the relentless 'Deepah Mix' fueled with luscious melodies. The remixes are courtesy of Ralf GUM who blesses us with a slick Disco drenched workout that is truly infectious, followed by Doruk Ozlen whose laidback interpretation features gentle keys and exquisite guitar. Finally, Souldynamic twist the track into a remorseless peak time favorite laced with cheeky keys and a killer organ ride.|
Soulstar Syndicate featuring Dawn Tallman "Take me (mind, body & soul)" (KingStreet Records CD Promo)
"Take me (mind, body & soul)", one of the salient tracks from KingStreet's "Miami 2010 (Traxsource Edition)" sampler, gets a full release complete with a fantastic set of remixes. Produced by Swiss' Soulstar Syndicate, what you get here is a slice of powerful yet smooth house featuring uplifting vocals from legendary house diva Dawn Tallmann. The remixes are courtesy of Sean McCabe who pulls out all the stops to deliver a smokin' remix featuring killer keys and piano, while DJ Oji adds his unique underground-esque touch to give the track a chunkier feel.
Tortured Soul "Did you miss me" (TSTC Records CD Promo)
The next single for Tortured Soul will be "Did you miss", the title track of their second full length album released a year ago, including fresh mixes from Mark de Clive-Lowe and remix competition winner PistolPuma. Mark de Clive-Lowe blends his signature soulful jazzy sounds with Tortured Souls outstanding vocals and live drums, with the result being breathtaking! Norwegian PistolPuma contributes a pair of tougher electrofied mixes to the package sure to rock the big rooms.
N'Dambi "The world is a beat" (Matthias Heilbronn Remixes)(Stax Records CD Promo)
These Matthias Heilbronn mixes have been put out on CD promo end of 2009, but there is no commercial release as of yet. His 'Main Mix' and 'Alternate Mix' are the ones for the radio play, while the 'Soulflower Mix' is the choice for the clubs, using a groovy, funk soaked backing as playground for N'Dambi's unmistakable vocals and lush keys.
Exclusive Preview: Dragon Fly "Love is free" (Ospina & Oscar P Remix)(Unreleased CD-R)
Here we have a little unreleased gem on a deep and contaminous tip that brings back memories of older Roger Sanchez stuff from the early 90's ("Guilty of love" from D.O. comes to my mind...), having a groovy funky touch to it, with Dragon Fly impressing with her sultry vocal performance. Its only a matter of time until this one will find a home...
Perspex People "No giving up" (Kula Records CD Promo)
Perspex People present the infectious latin house stomper "No giving up" featuring sexy female vocals by Elaine Suzy Scott, sun drenched sax and warm keys over a stormin' funk soaked groove. The remixes are courtesy of Conan Liquid who serves a somewhat dirty rub, Scibi who relaxes the vibe on his bumpin' take, Jon Milson who contributes a 303 influenced banger and finally Zweiklang whose remix is an eclectic mixture of tech-soul with deep jazzy sounds.
Jeff Cavanaugh & Dmitry featuring Laura Estrada "Give me life" (MuSol Records CD Promo)
New label Musol Records kicks off strong with the summery "Give me life" by Jeff Cavanaugh & Dmitry featuring sultry vocals by Laura Estrada alongside warm melodic keys and sweet guitars over a deep and captivating yet smooth backdrop, altogether creating an uplifting feel you can't resist to dance to.
Mr. Nugget featuring Natasha Watts "A little fire" (Barcoda Records CD Promo)
Right in time for all of us who travel to sunny Miami to attend the WMC comes this beauty by Mr. Nugget featuring amazing vocals by Natasha Watts. The original is a groovy, jazz-funk drenched affair spreading a laidback feel, masterly reworked by Craig Stewart & Jonny Montana who add their trademark organic jazzy touch to it. Both Central Avenue and Remmy Styles take the track to the main rooms with their fierce remixes.
Soul Deep Collective featuring Rainy Payne "Complicated EP" (Integrity Records CD Promo)
Soul Deep Collective team up with Rainy Payne for the super soulful "Complicated" which is built around a funk dripping groove, sensual vocals and spoken words and melodious keys. The Brazilian Soul Crew's interpretation is deep and contagious, with a fierce groove leading the way for jazzy keys and the vocals, while Future Funk Foundation fortify the funk flavas on their remix.
Deep Grounder featuring Virag "Stand up" (Panevino Music Records CD Promo)
"Stand up" by Deep Grounder (aka Urs Diethelm and Ralph Grieco) is an uber cool Disco-Funk flavored four-to-the-floor stomper featuring sexy vocals courtesy of Virag Keszthelyi and classy keys, guaranteed to spread a feel good vibe. The remixes are courtesy of Panevino who deepen the vibe and turn the track into a thumpin' affair laced with phat keys.
Deep-T "Mig's'" (Y2K10 Version)(CD-R)
Back in September 2001, we reviewed the "Our Music EP" by Thomas 'Deep-T' Pudell (released on vinyl only through Mindbase Records) which includes the deep and energetic yet soulful, funk soaked "Mig's". Approached recently by a DJ looking for the track, Deep-T went back to the studio and tweaked a few things here and there, taking the track straight to the new decade. More info here.
Neil Hodgson "Don't hold back" (Gotta Keep Faith Records CD Promo)
The original version of "Don't hold back" could be found on last years "Miami Sampler 2009" by Gotta Keep Faith Records, now this wicked jazz-funk fueled track got re-mastered and will be released complete with remixes by Patrick Green, Dee C'Rell, Georg Neufeld, Edmund and Neil Hodgson himself, taking the track to different territories ranging from laidback jazzy vibes over comtaminous deep house to mesmeric tech-soul.
Wil Milton "LickQuid Soul EP" (Blak Ink Records CD Promo)
Wil Milton continues to drop top-notch house music with his latest release, the "LickQuid Soul EP". This EP includes three instrumental productions, all capturing inspirations from his weekly DJ residence. From the late night tinged "Propaganda" which features luscious melodies, over the stompin' "Soul cool" that oozes with jazzy sax play, to the laidback "Deep breath" which makes use of a sweet percussive backing and warm keys, its all about infectious deep house vibes.
Deep88 "Summer of Stories EP" (Zoma Records CD Promo)
Deep88 presents a stunning release with the "Summer of Stories EP", including an edit of his cover of the Richie Rich all time classic "Salsa house" (expect a full release sometime this summer), two versions from his November 2008 release "Summer just can't wave goodbye" (very reminiscent of the Kool & the Gang classic "Summer madness") and "Stories" (previously performed by Chakachas and Izit), a mid-tempo soul gem oozing with a gorgeous jazz-funky live feel.
Tuccillo & Kiko Navarro "Quartetto o'batalistico" /" Auris (canto a obatala)" (NiteGrooves Records CD Promo)
Here we have another single lifted from KingStreet's "Miami 2010 (Traxsource Edition)" sampler that is set to take dance floors by storm. Written and produced by Pepe Tuccillo and Kiko Navarro, both tracks are deep tribal stompers keepng the vibe soulful yet energetic while oozing with sweet Balearic rhythms which together with the relentless percussion driven backings create a hypnotic feel.
Exclusive Preview: John Legend featuring Brandy "Quickly" (Luis Radio & Spellband Remix)(CD-R)
Luis Radio and Spellband take on John Legend's "Quickly" (which features guest vocalist Brandy; the song itself was originally released in 2008 on his "Evolver" album) and rework it for the house floors, with a fiery 4/4 backdrop leading the way for the vocals and instrumentation, always staying respectful to the original.
Various "SoulHeat Miami 10 Sampler" (SoulHeat Records CD Promo)
Like in previous years, SoulHeat Records have a sampler ready which gives us a sneak preview of things to come. The label continues their winning streak of powerful uplifting anthems for the dance floors with tracks such as the U-Ness & JedSet remix of "Daylight" by Sweet Coffee, "Your time" by Tom de Neef + U-Ness & JedSet featuring Kaysee; then there is the discofied "For you" by Thomas Brenner featuring Mc Eve or the deep house gem "In flat 3" by Samson. Swiss label Push on Music presents their Miami sampler featuring four hot tracks that are surefire dance floor winners. Included are the uplifting hands in the air anthem "What is love" (reviewed last week), the groovy sun drenched "Nikki beach", the latinesque "Latina de Rio" and the funktified slightly electrofied "Stomp your feet".
