Exclusive Preview: Eddie Nicholas "Carry on" (CD-R)
Here we've got a remake of the 1995 Strictly Rhythm release "You make me carry on" by D.E.K. featuring the unmistakable voice of Eddie Nicholas, with background vocals supplied by Karla Brown. Eddie Nicholas decided to get back to the studio to re-do the song as the first time around it did not get the recognition it deserves. The remake is a fierce affair running at over 130 beats per minute, with beautiful keys accompanying the passionate vocals, while the deep old-skool flavored groove adds a real underground touch. Japan's Taka Boom provides a great remix that is even more energetic and features great jazz-funky flavors alongside classic strings and wicked synths that give this remix a slight Disco edge.
From the Vault: Dwayne Scott "That girl" (Underground Vocal Mix)(DMS Records 12")
This cover of the Stevie Wonder classic was released back in 1993 on indie label DMS Records and is a pure underground classic that got remixed by Neal Conway and Geard Young. I remember that I couldn't get this release in Switzerland, so I had to pick my copy up at Vinylmania Records in New York (a legendary store that sadly closed it doors last year).
