Leo Cuenca featuring Rachel Claudio "If it's right" (Stalwart Records CD Promo)

Image Stalwart go from strength to strength with their releases, with their latest "If it's right" by Parisian Leo Cuenca being a soulful affair based on a powerful organic groove, with a catchy piano and lush synth hooks accompanying the outstanding vocals by Rachel Claudio. The 'Mucho Gusto Dub' gives the track a gritty funked-up feel, while DJ Meme is firing things up on his hypnotic, strings and synths loaded remix. DJ Rork further intensifies the vibe and turns it into a peak time favorite.

Exclusive Reviews: Lots of exclusives reviews for you this week... Trina Broussard's "Inside my love" (released in 1997 on the "Love Jones the Music" compilation and originally done by Minnie Ripperton back in the days), a wonderful down tempo soul cut, gets reworked by DJ Jaycee whose interpretation uses a smooth groove to create a laidback feeling (CD-R). "Broken again" by Hil St. Soul (from her 2008 album "Black rose") is a beautiful r&b song in its original from that has been given a makeover by Neter S, with the result being an infectious yet soulful affair (CD-R). "Secret garden" by Quincy Jones (which features the likes of El Debarge, Barry White, James Ingram and Al B. Sure on vocals) has been remixed many times since its release in 1989 on the "Back on the block" album, but this brand new version by Martin Faltin stands out with its funk drenched, subtle yet captivating backing from the rest (CD-R).

Exclusive Reviews: And we're not yet done with the exclusives... The Doobie J produced "Escape" features a passionate vocal by Amrick Channa over a fiercely stormin', funk soaked backdrop that is enriched with cool synth chords and a mesmerizing piano, altogether creating a resistless soulful feeling (CD-R). Next we have Estranjeros and Jerry Flores teaming up to take on "My happy valentine" by Terence Toy. They turn the track into a deep, relentlessly thumpin' affair with a distinct underground touch, combining the heartfelt vocals by Masai with gorgeous keys and chords (CD-R).

Ralf GUM takes on "Travelling together" by the Soul Vigilantes and turns the track into a soulful yet captivating dance floor stormer, with the funk drenched backing leading the way for the marvelous vocals by Xan Blacq and the great instrumentation. On the Dub, Ralf GUM goes a step further and gives the track a resistless organic touch (Lovemonk Records CD Promo). Todd Gardner's house classic "Luv me rite" featuring singer Kimara Lovelace returns as Djed presents a massive package of fresh remixes, with additional rap lyrics by Clarissa Santiago added on some of the mixes. Djed's 'Revival Vocal Mix' is a groovy old skool tinged affair, the 'Clarissa Luv Remix' is hip hop ghetto style featuring just the rap vocal parts, while the 'Baby Dub Remix' is on an electronic tip. Pablo Martinez goes truly deep on his remix, while Jersey Soul serve a clubby house mix. Finally Mr. Stimulation contributes deep atmospheric mixes (Certified Organik Records CD Promo).

In November 2008, the first part of mixes of Sean Smith's "Cloud 9" (featuring passionate vocals by J.L. from BSTC) hit our CD players, now the next set of mixes is here. Sean Smith himself contributes a slammin' underground-ish mix, with Karu, Johnny Fiasco and Bryan Bai-ee serving wicked deep house takes, all adding their own unique touch. BSTC give the track a jazz-funky live feel, with a tech-house mix completing the package (Smooth Agent Records CD Promo). Gregory Del Piero presents "Shining on", a mesmerizing deep house track featuring lush atmospheric synths over a deeply rumblin' groove, with Billy Love providing an emotional vocal performance. Island Groove slightly relax the vibe, inject funky flavors and add a lovely jazzy saxophone, while DeejyKul gives the track a laidback deep house feel perfect for late night / early morning play (DEL Records CD Promo).

"The rhythm of soul" by Mauritzio is a hypnotic deep house track built around an irresistibly stompin' groove that is enriched with sweet percussion, sexy vocals by Marianna and lush atmospheric synths, guaranteed to cause a stir on the dance floor (MusicPlan Tracks Records CD Promo). Studio Apartment's 2008 smash "Sun will shine" gets reworked by the legendary Marc 'MK' Kinchen who adds his unique sound and effects to the track that are reminiscent to his work from back in the days (that made  him famous), giving the track a classy old-school feel you can't resist to dance to (Defected Records CD Promo).
