This is only a selection of all the deeper/tracky/techy stuff I got in recent weeks... I raised the bar to filter out all those releases I consider worth being mentioned below...
Lets kick things off with two exclusives: "The track" by Andrew Rags Richardson is a lovely laidback track fueled with gorgeous synth melodies over an old school drenched backing, while Italy's Mr. Mama gets slightly dirty on "Black hole", a tech-soul track as only he can oozing with the deepest imaginable vibes (both CD-R).
"The deep" by Nacho Vega in the 'NV SSM Mix' is a slice of mesmerizing tech-house driven by a remorseless yet rather simple percussion enriched groove and phat chords (Soul Selection Music Records CD Promo). Grant Nelson returns as Nu Rhythmix with "Shakedown", a hypnotic percussion loaded afro-tribal monster that is guaranteed to send the crowd into a frenzy - this one is dirty and truly infectious, with the unexpected twists further intensifying the feel (Swing City Records CD Promo).
The "Chicago EP V1" features tracks from four different producers, showcasing the different flavors of Chicago house, with a dose of yesteryear to be found as well. There is the monotonous yet mesmeric "Time 2 dance" by Melvin Meek featuring Paul Johnson, the Disco tinged jazz workout "Junkin' jack Jazz" by Vince Melo, the deep spaced-out tech cut "Exploration" by Cesar Ramirez and the jackin' "Illustrator" by Dave Britton (Smooth Agent Records CD Promo).
FilSonik teams up with singer Sebastian Sozzi for "Mind blowin'", a track that creates a hypnotic feel through the driving monosonic vibe, catchy vocals and dreamy synth melodies (Funk La Planet Records CD Promo). The delicious "Come on EP" by Hugo Barritt includes three deep melodious tracks with a slight techy edge, all of which create a captivating feel through smooth chords, mellow beats and laidback basslines (Just Deep Music Records CD Promo).
Rustin J. Davis under his Castlebed moniker presents the "21st Century Soul EP" featuring three different productions that in their original format are all about groovy, jazz and funk flavored house vibes, reworked by the likes of Greg Stainer, The Insatiables, Mr. Mama, Duoswing, Carl Michael and Soul De Martin who all add their distinctive touch to the tracks, making this a truly versatile release (Gotta Keep Faith Records CD Promo).
"Essence" by Filtered Music takes you on a journey of sultry deep house, with the jazzy keys and sleek synths creating a somewhat chilled-out vibe. Tommy Largo gives the track a cool funky twist while keeping it deep, followed by Pablo Bolivar who deepens the vibe and gives the track a dark seductive edge (Chillin Music Records CD Promo). Kyka serves delightful melodious vibes perfect for those cold days in form of the "Overlove EP" which features three deep tracks oozing with deeper than deep backings and warm orbital melodies (Cabrio Records CD Promo).
Jevne's "Moderize" is a spaced-out house joint oozing with plenty of funky flavors, given a dark tech makeover on the 'Tekness Mix'. Asad Rizvi turns the track into an uplifting bouncy affair, while Jay Tripwire gets deep and lush on his take. Finally there is Sebby Fresco's dubstep remix (Native Soul Records CD Promo). The "Jazzin' EP" by Shigeru Tanabu is a sweet fusion of deep house with jazz element in its mellow original format, given a deep tech re-rub on the dub, while the 'Accelerate Mix' goes all hypnotic. Lastly the 'Solid State Soul Mix' is a deep dubstep rework (Apt. International Records CD Promo).
Lets close this update with two full albums: First up is "Sides of Deep" by Alex V bringing you eight tracks full of luscious atmospheric melodies and deeper than deep backdrops, enriched with elements from sounds of the 80's (Sweetleaf Records CD Promo). Second up is "Black (The Album)" by Elastic Sound, a selection of contaminous deep/tech sounds fuses with softer melodic rhythms (Aquarmarine Digital Records CD Promo).
