Best of the Rest

We are getting so many promos sent each and every week that many of them never get reviewed here on Spirit of House (for various reasons nota bene). However, as we want to make sure you are well informed what is happening, we have introduced this section where, every now and then, we will highlight other noteworthy releases...

We had to wait a long time but now finally "The melody", a laidback deep house production by South African producers Nteeze & Andy which combines deep gentle rhythms with seductive synth melodies and a sublime jazzy piano, has arrived. Quite simply, this gem is not to be missed.... (Deeper Shades Recordings CD Promo).

Rhemi (aka Neil Pierce and Ziggy Funk) present the mind-boggling "Land of promise" EP which is loaded with two sure-fire dance floor bombs: the energetically bouncin' "Freedom" is laced with rousing synths and stabs, while the mesmerizing late night jewel "Just believe" features enchanting melodies over deeply thumpin' rhythms( Rhemi Music CD Promo).

Courtesy of FOMP come two wicked instrumental releases from up and coming South African producers: first up is Xerophytic Soul who presents "Ocean life", an eclectic six track EP taking you on an exhilarating and truly hypnotizing journey to deepest South African house music grounds, second we have Mthi Wa Afrika whose "Deep Within EP" features three beautiful deep laidback tracks perfect for late night play (FOMP CD Promo).

"The Insomniac EP" by Gene King & Demuir is a must-have for any deep house music lover. Gene King's "4am" features delectable jazzy keys over soulful yet stimulating rhythms, with IDP (Thomas Gregorski) giving the track a wicked old school feel on his remix. In contrast, the Chicago House influenced "3.33am" by Demuir features heavenly melodies over deep'n'groovey organic rhythms (Shines Records CD Promo).

Canadian artist Paolo Rocco brings us "Move body, move forward", a deep somewhat moody late night gem featuring mesmeric dreamy chords alongside pitched down vocals over a groovey backdrop. Nathan Barato darkens the vibe on his heady rework, and then we have Osunlade reconstructing the track into a deep hypnotizing gem oozing with his beloved truly unique Yoruba Soul sound (Defected Records CD Promo).

Legendary Quark Records bring us something special and different with this release by Hillbilly House. Both featured tracks "Sleezy lemonade" and "Chicago in my soul" combine super funky grooves with a wicked jazzed-up orchestration, the result is truly novel and refreshing and set to move the boundaries of house music (Quark Records CD Promo).
