From Staff Productions come these brand new superb remixes of Mustafa's and songstress Lisa Millett's marvelous cover of the Harold Melvin & The Blue Notes classic "Wake up everybody". French duo Supranova deliver an energetic rework, with fervid rhythms leading the way for exhilarating synth melodies and Lisa Millett's incomparable deeply felt vocals. From Mustafa himself comes a truly gorgeous down-tempo bossa version guaranteed to make you yearn for more.

In summer of 2010, KingStreet Records blessed us with the distinguished "The sweetest thing", a timeless song produced by Soul Dhamma featuring the unmistakable dulcet voice of house music diva Stephanie Cooke. Now this beautiful song returns in breath-taking remixes by Josh Milan who combines Stephanie Cooke's inimitable vocals with gentle yet thrilling rhythms and heavenly keys - the result is sheer musical bliss, guaranteed to put a spell on you. Included in the package are Ezel's 'Soul on the Floor Mix' and Tomo Inoue's 'King Street Dub' from the 2010 release.

Distant People featuring Nontu "Summer time" (Tony Records CD Promo)

"Summer time" could be first heard on Tony Records "Miami Uncuts 2014" compilation released earlier this year, now this soulful gem by Distant People (aka Joey Silvero) which features up and rising South African vocalist Nontu gets a well deserved full single release. Distant People's original version is a sun drenched affair built around a spell binding funktified backing, lush keys and Nontu's inspiring vocals. On remix duty are South Africa's Magic Soul who contribute a deep hypnotizing version laced with catchy melodies, Drive Red 5 who take the song to the big room, Kekkotronics who drop a marvelous laidback soul/funk/jazz infused interpretation, and last but not least Wayne Brown who serves an entrancing deep soul-tech remix.

Beat Rivals featuring Natasha Watts "Fabulous" (Rival Beat Records CD Promo)

Beat Rivals (Soulshy & Krazy K) join forces with songstress Natasha Watts for "Fabulous", an utterly uplifting production coming in an eclectic selection of mixes to choose from, each one letting Natasha Watts' wonderful distinctive vocals shine. Soulshy gets all funky on his soul oozing affair laced with jazzy brass stabs and illustrious piano, while Krazy K turns out an uber cool deep percussive yet funky workout. Together the two deliver the incredibly deep'n'groovey 'Live Groove' version and the old school inspired 'Uptempo Groove' sure to set the floor on fire. Finally, Broken Species take the track into a completely different direction on their ruthless dubby afrocentric remix.

Those Boys featuring Mr Lee "Proud and free" (Do It Now Recordings CD Promo)

Those Boys aka Leslie Theko and Sithembiso Kekana have been creating quite a buzz over the past few months with their stunning releases "Blessed" (through Vibe Boutique Records) and "Feeling good" a collaboration with DJ SGZ (through Nightshade Music Group) as well as with their stellar remixes for other artists. "Proud and free" is the first single taken from their debut artist album "Back to Life" which will be released next month, and what a marvelous masterly orchestrated soulful gem it is. To make it short, the gentle funk infused rhythms together with sweet guitars, grand horns, classy keys and Mr Lee's emotive vocals are guaranteed to send shivers down your spine...

Michele McCain "I am lost" (Jonny Montana Mixes)(Welcome To The Weekend CD Promo)

Hot on the heels of last weeks review of "Ocean breeze" we bring you another standout track lifted from Michele McCain's highly acclaimed full length album "Marivent Soul". "I'm lost" is written by Michele McCain and BKR (Benjamin Kristof Rakun), with arrangement and production by Jonny Montana and featuring the keyboard wizardry of Bennett Holland. To cut a long story short, "I'm lost" is all about the incomparable laidback organic jazz drenched sound Jonny Montana is famous for, not to forget to mention Michele McCain's inimitable refined vocals.

Not only grace us Welcome To The Weekend with the Jonny Montana mixes of Michele McCain's "I am lost", the label from Palma de Mallorca has more soulful gems to offer in the coming weeks. First up is Marc Riwer delectable smoothly stompin' funk/soul soaked remix of the beautiful "Someone", a captivating duet by Anthony Poteat and Michele McCain. Next is "Shine on" by Ars Domini, a summery feel good production using a pulsating funk drenched backdrop as playground for uplifting vocals and warm melodious keys. Finally, there is "Who am I" by Billy Lofton in the mesmerizing deepened remix by Guido P oozing with passionate vocals and luscious melodies.

SoulFunktion featuring FAMA "Do to me" (Part 1)(Check It Out Records CD Promo)

SoulFunktion (Brian 'Keys' Tharme & Wally Walton) team up with singer Francisca Blasich aka FAMA for "Do to me", a deep groovylicious production with old school inspired rhythms leading the way for glamorous keys and FAMA's sultry vocals. Beside the main vocal version, the package includes a deep mesmerizing 'Dub Mix', an alternate vocal version, a vibrant remix by Scott Wozniak fueled with enchanting melodies and a driving deep workout by DJ Groove & Ray Paxon. Part two will feature additional remixes from Shane D, Drexmeister and Steven Stone.

James Winter "Atmosphere" (Plastik People Recordings CD Promo)

Deeper than deep rhythms and inebriant atmospheric synth melodies coupled with wicked spoken words - beyond the shadow of a doubt, James Winter's "Atmosphere" is an ingenious slice of deep house music, presented to you by Plastik People Recordings. Ray Manteca "Mayamero" (Vida Records CD Promo)

Next on Vida Records is "Mayamero" by Ray Manteca, a sure-fire dance floor bomb not much needs to be said and written about besides that thanks to relentless percussive tribalesque rhythms and amazing spoken words this admittedly rather simple track is extremely effective, spreading a contaminous feel guaranteed to send the crowd into a frenzy.
