This week we have a truly eclectic update for you - enjoy !!
B-Ayce featuring Stephanie "Hold on" (Remixes)(Duffnote Records CD Promo)
End of 2010, Duffnote Records released the glorious "Hold on" by B-Ayce (Ayo 'Ayce' Oyerinde & Ben Epstein) which features the beautiful uplifting vocals by Stephanie, now this gem returns in fresh remixes. First up we have Richard Earnshaw who subtly revisits his fervid hypnotically bouncin' version from back in the day, and Soulfuledge who delivers a sure-fire club anthem which combines the vocals with inebriant keys, lusch chords and ruthlessly thumpin' rhythms.
Ferrari & Bergamasco featuring Marc Evans "Josephine" (Othersoul Remix)(KingStreet Records CD Promo)
In spring of last year, Antonio Ferrari & Aldo Bergamasco graced us with a jaw-dropping truly respectful four-to-the-floor cover version of "Josephine", one of the most popular and successful songs by Chris Rea (originally released in 1985 on his "Shamrock diaries" album), featuring the unmistakable emotive vocals of Marc Evans. Courtesy of Spain's Othersoul comes a brand new truly dazzling interpretation oozing with an uber soulful classic sound guaranteed to make you yearn for more... Also included is the enthralling Opolopo remix from the original release.
Muzikman Edition "Eye know" (Muzikman Edition Labor of Love Mix)(Exemplary Music Makerz CD Promo)
In 2014, Muzikman Edition took on Bill Wither's immortal "Ain't no sunshine" (from his 1971 album "Just as I am") and reworked the song into a deeply moving four-to-the-floor gem that stays true to the original, this time around he went one step further and transformed the song into a no-nonsense dance floor weapon fueled with enticing synth melodies and irresistibly pulsating rhythms. In other words, his 2016 interpretation is sure to send the dance floor into a frenzy...
First Choice "This ain't no game" (DJ Marcus Wade Remix)(Salt Shaker Records CD Promo)
To this day, "Love thang" by First Choice (originally released back in 1979 on legendary Salsoul Records) is a favorite with DJ's and dancers alike, numerous times this classic has been given a (more or less successful) makeover. From DJ Marcus Wade comes a fierce workout using only the most memorable lyrics that keeps the spirit and vibe of the original alive yet gives the song an infectious contemporary 4/4 feel guaranteed to jam-pack the floor.
Bootleg Pick: Lisa Stansfield "People hold on" (The Groovin Beat Ensemble Restyle)(CD-R)
The Coldcut produced "People hold on" which features the unrivaled vocals of Lisa Stansfield was originally released back in 1989, nowadays it is considered an all-time dance music classic. Italy's The Groovin Beats Ensemble (Lello Cacciola, Tony Maione, DaSouL, Salvatore Oppio) present an awesome re-imagination, reworking the song into a spell binding funktified 4/4 anthem laced with the distinctive strings and guitar riffs sampled from Shuya Okina's cover of the Rose Royce classic "Still in love".
