Hippie Torrales featuring Steve Luxe "You're for me" (What Is Hip Records CD Promo)

In April of this year, legendary American DJ and producer Hippie Torrales launched his brand new label What Is Hip with a musical gem titled "If you need a man", now its time for the second release, the laidback percussive broken beat affair "You're for me" which features deeply felt vocals by Steve Luxe, distinguished jazzy keys and glorious strings. Hippie Torrales & George Mena team up to deliver a smoothly stompin' funked-up house version, while Richard Earnshaw adds his signature bumpin' touch and luscious keys. Also included in the release are mixes by Fulvio Perniola and Steve Luxe which take the track straight to the main room.

DJN Project featuring Nina B "Tip it up" (Newav Media CD Promo)

Back in April 2009, we gave you an exclusive preview of "Tip it up" by the DJN Project (Ruben 'Swift' Vidal & Rick 'Galactik' Wilkinson), now finally this uplifting gem which features rap vocals by Nina B. alongside lush keys and wicked organ play by Scott Wozniak and John Crockett over an infectious yet smooth backdrop is about to get released. In addition to the main version, there is a 'Funk Dub' that is heavy on the bass and funk flavors, Avi Elman's contaminous remix that gives the track a deeper feel and Ralph Session's groovy workout oozing with phat synth melodies.

Federico d'Alessio featuring Rietta Austin "I can see the light" (Panevino Music CD Promo)

With "I can see the light" by Federico d'Alessio, Panevino Music present a beautiful production featuring spirited vocals by Rietta Austin over a fiercely stormin' yet smooth backdrop that is enriched with funky bass and keys by Emiliano Marzoli and classy guitar by Federico d'Alessio. For the connoisseur, there are two equally amazing acoustic versions included.

Exclusive Preview: Kelly Price featuring Stokley "Not my daddy" (Spellband Remix)(My Block Records CD-R)

The down tempo "Not my daddy" is a wonderful duet with Stokley (from Mint Condition) taken from Kelly Price long player "Kelly" released earlier this year. Spellband turn the song into an uplifting soulful four-to-the-floor affair, using a fiercely stompin' backing as playground for Kelly Price and Stokley's heartfelt vocals and the grand original instrumentation.

Exclusive Preview: Eric Benet featuring Ledisi "Good life" (Soul'N'Vibes & Hgm Re-Touch)(Reprise Records CD-R)

Just a few weeks back, Soul'N'Vibes & Hgm blessed us with their rework of Eric Benet & Faith Evans' "Feel good", now they take on another song from his 2010 album "Lost in time", the captivating "Good life" featuring guest Ledisi. Their subtle funk drenched 4/4 makeover stays close to the original, putting the fantastic vocal and classic instrumentation center stage - one guaranteed to spread a feel good vibe on the floor.

Kenyatta Paige "I was born" (D#Sharp Records CD Promo)

Joe Flame is on a roll at the moment, following up the recent "Shadow dancer" by Rescue with another slammin' spoken word production titled "I was born" which is performed by Kenyatta Paige. There is something for everyone here, letting you choose between the laidback jazzed-up 'Smooth Mix', the underground-esque 'D#Sharp Mix', the mesmerizing snyth driven 'Coffee Cave Mix', the deep moody '98 Degrees Mix' and percussive remixes by Louie Balo which are laced with celestial synth melodies.

Those familiar with music history know that James Brown is one of the all time greats, and "Get up offa that thing" was one of his biggest hits in the second half of the 1970's. Now this funk monster by The Godfather of Soul gets reworked by Alex 'South Soul' Dimitri who adds his innovative touch to this unique song, staying respectful to the original and keeping the vibe as funky as it gets... nuff said.

Basil "City Streets" / "Time to be free" (KingStreet Records CD Promo)

KingStreet Records revive two of their many classics from back in the day - "City streets" from 1998 and "Time to be free" from 1999, both by the legendary Basil. DJ Oji is pulling out all the stops on his incredibly infectious yet sexy remixes of "City street" built around remorseless Brazilian/Carnival flavored tribal-esque rhythms which take Basil's vocals to the next level. "Time to be free" is reinterpreted by Sascha Dive, one of Frankfurt's premier electronic producers. Selected mixes from the original release complete the package.

Dawn Williams "Get up and do it" (New Generation Records CD Promo)

The legendary New Generation Records is back in full force - hot on the heels of their "Revival EP 3", UPI present the massive vocal production "Get up and do it" performed by the highly talented Dawn Williams who impresses with her powerful voice which together with the old school flavored funk soaked backing and warm keys create a resistless feel good vibe on the dance floor. Also included are deeper, underground-esque remixes on an electronic tip by Petros Mitolis.

While talking about the legendary New Generation Records, we wanted to make sure you don't miss to check out these two vocal productions released in the last couple of weeks. First up we have a slice of classic vocal house titled "Strong love" by Darryl D'Bonneau which showcases his unique vocal style, coming complete with an eclectic selection of remixes by K.O.H (Kabelo Sekati), UPI, DeepCitySoul and Deepnotic (Kat la Kat). Second we have "What U do 2 me" by Mike La Birt, a soulful Disco-Funk inspired production coming in a great variety of tasty variations, complemented with wicked remixes by Tony Jesus and John Crockett.

Mix2Inside Records present a brilliant set of fresh remixes of "Why did you call me" by Gioia Bruno which was previously released in 2007. Included is a truly multifaceted selection of interpretations by the likes of Mix2Inside (Bordin Stefano & Dario Igor), DJ Groove, Dario MS and Paul Raw, all adding their distinctive touch to the track while keeping the vibe soulful from beginning to the end. A highly recommended package giving you plenty of choices to work Gioia Bruno's powerful vocals on the floor.

iMusic Underground celebrate summer with two gorgeous releases by Glenn Gregory and Lucy Hocknell (produced by Grant Sullivan). Glenn Gregory graces us with his six track "Summer time" EP that is all about laidback instrumental productions that are masterly orchestrated and ooze with delectable melodies and smooth yet contaminous rhythms.
