DJ Meme injects the song with sun-drenched Latin-house vibes, while Filsonik's deep hypnotic dub will make you sweat while dancing to the infectious synths and slammin' beats. Closing the package are The Super-Phonics with their smokin' old school boogie jam.
Ferry Ultra featuring Gwen McCrae "Let me do my thang" (Peppermint Jam Records CD Promo)
The original version of Ferry Ultra's latest production "Let me do my thang" is an old skool tinged soul-funk masterpiece on a mid-tempo tip, featuring the unmistakable vocals from the legendary Gwen McCrae. The up-tempo remixes are courtesy of dOP who reworks the song into a hypnotic dirty stomper featuring phat electronic synth hooks and a wonderful brass section, while Roland Appel drops everything beside the main element from the vocal to create a deep techy monster.
White Soul Project "Give in" (Duffnote Records CD Promo)
Since its inclusion on the "Duffnote WMC 2009 Sampler", White Soul Project's charming "Give in" has been getting lots of attention thanks to the Jordan Dee's remix which features Wendy Lewis' sexy vocals alongside classic strings and melodic keys over a smooth funk oozing backdrop. In contrast, the original is on a cool laidback tip, perfect for those warm summer nights. Richard Earnshaw adds his distinctive, irresistible bumpin' touch to the track, while both Danny Jones and Charlie Edwards & LeisureGroove take the track to the main room.
Exclusive Preview: Vick Lavender featuring David Glen "Another girl" (Sophisticado Records CD-R)
Vick Lavender continues to bless us with his marvelous releases, with "Another girl" being a masterly orchestrated production on a laidback tip, using a mellow percussion enriched funk oozing groove as playground for outstanding vocals by David Glen, sweet guitar riffs, jazzy keys, timeless chords and a killer organ ride. The 'Guitar Mix' is an instrumental take that puts the beautiful guitar center stage. Another Sophisticado release not to be missed.
Exclusive Preview: The Groove Victim "The nothing" (CD-R)
Jay Brown under his Groove Victim disguise presents the gorgeous "The nothing", an instrumental production built around a deep relentless yet smooth percussion enriched groove that is topped with lush atmospheric synth melodies and beautiful jazzy keys in the 'Calm Before The Storm' version, while the edgy 'The Havok Mix' is a much more aggressive and features freaky electronic synth waves. Also included is the 'Nothing But Beats' DJ tool, a beats version of 'The Havok Mix'.
Dom Navarra featuring Antonio "Nothing ever changes" (Cabana Records CD Promo)
On "Nothing ever changes", Dom Navarra teams up with his younger brother Antonio to present a melancholic production featuring heartfelt vocals by Antonio and wicked chords over a mellow, percussion driven backing. The 'Terra Mia Remix' by Mario Martellotta & Stephan Probst keeps the vibe laidback while giving the track a funked-up groovy feeling. Justin Imperiale serves a captivating remix featuring phat rhodes and moog solos, while Hernan Cronner uses a backing reminiscent of DJ Spinna's remix of Ayro's "Bounce" together with sweet keys and chords.
Pablo Fierro "Afronation EP" (Nu Deep Music Records CD Promo)
Pablo Fierro follows up his recent "Deep Skyline EP" with the "Afronation EP", a release we think will even score bigger for him. The title track "Afronation" is driven by a deep mesmeric tribal rhythm and features atmospheric synths and hypnotic vocal chants, while "Power of love" is a mellow deep house number featuring seductive male vocals and sweet synths. The remix by Juan Fierro gives the track a more edgy feel. Lastly there is the intoxicating "Ain't not a perfect man" that goes as deep as it gets and features sultry vocals and spaced-out melodies, remixed by DJ Rico whose funked-up 'Deep Y'All Remix' adds beautiful chords.
CHiTLiNS "The boom boom dance" (Jovonn Remix)(The Vine Records CD Promo)
These Jovonn remixes of "The boom boom dance" by the CHiTLiNS have been a favorite with all of those lucky enough to obtain a copy for months now. But it all started with the incredible original version that lets Excite, the bands leader, showcase his James Brown-esque vocals while the funky backdrop is guaranteed to get you moving. Jovonn takes those distinctive, enchanting vocals and combines them with a deep remorseless groove and wicked synths that altogether create a hypnotizing feel.
Sterling Ensemble featuring Carlene Graham "Push it" (Sterling Blue Music Records CD Promo)
"Push it" by the Sterling Ensemble is a delicious slice of soulful house music, featuring outstanding vocals by Carlene Graham alongside luscious keys and chords by Alert 'Sterling' Menendez over a deeply thumpin' backing on the 'Sterling Mix', with the 'Underground Mix' taking the track to even deeper grounds, perfect for late night play. Hernan Cronner's interpretation is built around a smooth yet infectious percussion enriched groove and features wonderful melodic keys by Diego Mano.
Rachel Claudio "Gotcha" (Nassau Re-Loved Mix)(Jaffa Music Records CD Promo)
Nassau's remix of "Gotcha" became a DJ's favorite when first included on last years "Jaffa Music EP" (and still is to this day), now Nassau presents the brand new 'Re-Loved Mix' which extends the already massive package of mixes of the recently released "Gotcha" single with an uplifting version that oozes with funky flavas and Rachel Claudio's incomparable voice.
Random Soul and Vincent Kwok "Music is my life" (Shifted Music Records CD Promo)
Random Soul (aka Johan 'Yogi' Willenberg and Lawrence 'Husky' Huskinson) team up with Vincent Kwok to the present "Music is my life", with vocals courtesy of Johan 'Yogi' Willenberg. The original is a soulful feel good anthem built a round a captivating funk soaked backing enriched with sweet jazzy keys, reworked by Vincent Kwok into a bumpin', West Cost styled affair. Nathan G deepens the vibe on his slightly electronic 'Luvbug Deeper Vocal Dub'.
