From the Vault: Billie "Nobody's business" (Fleetwood Records 12" 1986 / 4 to the Floor Records CD Promo)

Details
Written by: Mike Fossati
Created: 15 July 2017

FTTFSS006DOriginally a 1920's blues standard by Porter Grainger, "Nobody's business" became a seminal club record in the mid 1980's when Boyd Jarvis took the hook, changed some of the lyrics and then together with Timmy Regisford turned the song into an uplifting four-to-the-floor anthem that took over dance floors by storm. This ageless dance music anthem featuring an arresting rendition of the lyrics by Billie is emotive, inspirational and entirely heartfelt. Not to forget to mention the brilliant instrumental version laced with a grandiose piano. Thanks for 4 to the Floor Records, this unforgettable house music classic returns to once again rule the dance floors.
