Shane D featuring Donna Hidalgo - Inside out For the past few weeks, South Africa's Shane D has been amazing us with his stellar productions and remixes, and his latest one is no exception. The Jesse Rae written "Inside out" is a timeless Disco-Funk classic by Odyssey dating back to 1982, here given a subtle new interpretation using a soulful funk soaked backing, sweet funky guitar, old school styled keys and classic strings alongside heartfelt vocals by Donna Hidalgo. The 'Ds Refunked Dub' is a peak time gem thanks to the added keys which intensify the vibe to the max. The 'Lucius Lowe Extra Saxiness Mix' adds a jazzy sax and slightly deepens the vibe, while Anthony Weeling's 'Sunset ReDub' is a deep tech-soul rework.

On the "Sharing EP", Marcelo Cruz and Hernan Cronner team up to present serious deepness for the deeper heads. Two tracks two chose from, with the smooth afro-tribal flavored "Voyage" creating an uplifting feel through jazzy keys and spacey synths. "Culture" is deep and contaminous, featuring dreamy synth melodies and jazzy keys over a deeply thumpin' groove.

Greg Dorban follows up his recent successful releases "Change the world" and "3 words" with another beauty titled "Get to me", featuring sublime vocals by Sandra Lima. The original is a soulful affair built around a groovy funk drenched backing and warm melodic keys, reworked by Christian Hornbostel into a deep mesmeric tech-soul dub. Rafael Yapudjian and RyB team up for a deep afro tinged interpretation with gorgeous keys and sweet percussion that relaxes the vibe, while the Stereo Mutants fire things up for peak time action using a stompin' groove and cool synths.

Jay-J "Getting a rise" (Shifted Music Records CD Promo)

"Getting a rise" is the 2nd release from Jay-J's critically acclaimed artist album "Love alive", featuring passionate vocals by BAM over a funk oozing, percussion enriched groove that is topped with exquisite keys by Scott Wozniak giving the track a veritable old school feel. Pete Moss takes the track to deeper laidback grounds and gives it a dreamy feel using atmospheric synths, while Jevne serves a deep funk fueled rework featuring phat synths and chords on his 'Onethirty' remixes.

DJ Serge Negri teams up with vocalist Sylvia Simone to present the magnificent "The Soul Divine EP". All three tracks feature seductive vocals by Sylvia Simone and ooze with wonderful melodies created by masterly keys and laidback yet contagious grooves, taking you on a soulful journey through eclectic deep house. We couldn't pick out a favorite out of the three tracks as we're loving them all...

Jose James "Blackmagic" (Izmabad / DOP Remixes)(Brownswood Records CD Promo)

Here we've got one of those rare treats from Izmabad (aka Simbad and Karizma) - the demand for their productions and remixes is high but they only bless every now and then... Their remix of "Blackmagic" by Jose James is a delicious deep house gem fueled with luscious melodies over a subtle groove making you yearning for more. Next DOP go deep and rather minimal on their hypnotic dub-styled version.

Exclusive Preview: Michael Jackson "Lady in my life" (Rag's Edit)(CD-R)

Here we've got a lovely remix by Andrew 'Rag' Richardson of Michael Jackson's "Lady in my life" (from the timeless "Thriller" album). The remix is smooth and groovy, built around a deeply thumpin' percussion enriched backdrop which serves as playground for the original instrumentation, putting the sweet guitar to full effect. Only few parts of MJ's vocals are used, so we asked for a version with more vocals...

Miguel Migs "Dubs and Re-Rubs" (Salted Music Records CD Promo)

Salted Music open their vaults to present four previously unreleased Miguel Migs mixes which have rocked the dance floors around the globe when he dropped them, but it took until now they get a full release. There is the 'Unreleased Salted Dub' of Joe Pompeo's "Try to love me" originally released on the 2008 "The Flavor Saver EP Vol. 2", the 'Migs Unreleased Dub' of Kaskade's "Safe" which dates back to 2004, the 'Migs Unreleased Dub Deluxe Mix' of Miguel Migs own "Sometime" (from the 2007 album "Those Things") and finally 'Migs 2007 Unreleased Dub' of 808 by New Mondo. Highly recommended.

Greg Cuoco "The Aqua-Disco EP" (Aqua-Booty Records CD Promo)

With "The Aqua-Disco EP", Aqua-Booty Records present a massive release including three smokin' Disco-Funk soaked house tracks by Greg Cuoco which take you back in time. "You got it baby" is deep and as funky as it gets, with killer jazzy keys creating an infectious feel. "Oh-no!" keeps the vibe funky, using classy brass and jazzy keys to create a feel good vibe. Lastly "Can I help being a woman" is on a more laidback yet captivating tip, full of sweet melodies.

DJ Marcelo Mistake featuring Shyder "Watching you" (Pino Music Records CD Promo)

"Watching you" by DJ Marcelo Mistake is a laidback production on a funky tip spiced with discofied strings, funky guitar, wicked keys and beautiful vocals courtesy of Shyder. The remixes are courtesy of Eddie Valdez who turns the track into a soulfully stompin' feel good anthem perfect for peak time play with phat synths accompanying the vocals.
