Jay Caruso & Phie Claire "Dance a little bit closer" (Luis Radio Remix) (Groovebom Records Promo)

Back in November 2023, producer Jay Caruso and singer/songwriter Phie Claire dropped a dazzling remake of the Vincent Montana Jr written and produced all-time disco anthem "Dance a little bit closer" by Charo and The Salsoul Orchestra (released in 1977 through Salsoul Records). Now Groovebom Records present a towering interpretation by influential Italian DJ/producer Luis Radio who adds his beloved signature touch to take the track to the next level.

Following the sad passing of Roy Ayers, Gee Bello decided to rush release this wonderful song that features an unmatched performance from the vibraphone genius himself; beyond doubt Nigel Lowis has been pulling out all the stops to grace us with a magnificent interpretation oozing with his beloved unquestionably glamorous Motown/Philadelphia International influenced sound.

The latest offering from France based Melchyor A (Andrianirina Jean Yves) is the glorious soulful production "It's over" available through Razana Prod. Beyond the shadow of doubt, "It's over" is gorgeous slice of soulful bliss laced with beautiful emotive female vocals, luxurious jazzed-up keys, classy horns and a smooth organic backdrop. The 'Touch Mix' spreads a vibrant soul/funk infused vibe, while the 'Soul Touch Version' oozes with an enchanting lively feel.

Album Review/Pour le Connaisseur: Alexander Flood "Artifactual rhythm" (AtJazz Record Company Promo)

Renowned Australian drummer and beat-master Alexander Flood follows up his superb 20204 single releases "Life is a rhythm" and "Can't get enough" with the highly anticipated full length album "Artifactual rhythm" that features some of the finest players from 'down under' including Erica Tucceri (flute), Finn Rees (keyboards), Dylan Paul (bass), as well as guest vocal features from the lyrical legend Cazeaux O.S.L.O, Kara Manasala and Vivian Sessoms. On this indisputably eclectic and ingenious album, Alexander Flood taps into sounds of the 90's and 2000's while keeping his foot very firmly in the now and beyond, with his unique nu-jazz/jazztornica dubbed sound taking influences from house, UK garage, drum'n'bass and broken beat. Courtesy of Italian/Colombian producer 2Sleep (Gianfranco Cirillo) comes "Stronger" an unadulterated garage dance floor weapon. To make a long story short, "Stronger" using inexorably pulsating underground-esque rhythms as foundation for tempting female vocals, wicked keys, ethereal chord progressions and an enticing saxophone solo is guaranteed to send the dancers into a frenzy.

Traxx Pick: Starchild "Ivory" (ChilliFunk Records Promo)

This breathtaking jazz house track by Neil Cowley (released under his Starchild alias) originally released in 1998 finally gets its premier digital release complete with brand new remixes. The original version is all about Neil Cowley^s piano wizardry, enriched with celestial melodies and relentlessly driving rhythms. Werner Niedermeier replaces the piano with trippy synth sounds and introduces thumpin' rhythms to create a deep hypnotic vibe, while L and T Project deliver an inebriant rework that pays tribute to the legendary techno sound of Detroit.
