Just a few months back, one of the legendary UK based house music labels returned to the scene when they started to make their back catalogue available in digital format: Junior Boys Own Records. Now its time for the second volume of "A Boys Own Odyssey", a retrospective series mixed by Terry Farley and The Misterons, with the tracks also available in unmixed format. If you missed their releases the first time around or your vinyl copies are worn out, its your chance now to replace them with digital ones. Next is the lovely "After sundown" by Lefthander which features sweets vocal by Anna over a laidback, broken beat styled groove that is enriched with lush synths. Christian Hornbostel takes the track to deeper grounds on his remix, giving the track a laidback melodic vibe (Ceremony Records CD Promo). DJ Jeroenski's "Love & Lust EP" features three tracks, including "Pasta for 2" known from the "Tempogroove Miami 08 Sampler", a track all about the infectious synths nicely arranged over a deeply thumpin' beat. The "Look of love" is an electro house affair loaded with plenty of bleeps, while "After midnight" is more on the dark side of things featuring moody atmospheric synths (TempoGroove Records CD Promo).
Pirahnahead presents "Come 2gether (a tribute to Obama)", a deep house track combining words from both Barack Obama and Martin Luther King Jr. over a soul-tech flavored groove that is enriched with phat chords (Whasdat Music Records CD Promo). This is followed by Mark Mendoza's cooler than cool mash-up of Radio Slave's "Bell clap" with Buscemi's "Seaside", a captivating slice of beach flavored chill house (CD-R). "Silvered" by Daniel Kyo features warm melodies over a bumpin' backdrop, with the included remixes giving you the choice between lovely deep house and gritty electrofied interpretations (Next Dimension Music Records CD Promo). The "Second Guess EP" courtesy of Pedersen includes the deeply thumpin' "Edirol", a deep house gem creating a mesmerizing feel through the wicked atmospheric synths and chords. With "Jamies place" and "Secret sound", two more lovely deep house tracks, this time a bit more on the electronic side of things, are part of the release (Just Deep Music Records CD Promo).
Mathew Mulholland presents "SWIM 01" and "SWIM 02", with all five tracks of the two releases to be filed as minimal yet mesmerizing deep house tracks that are guaranteed to work the crowd in those mystic moments of the night (616 Records CD Promo). Yuji Noto is the latest producer from Japan to be added to the ever growing list of artists at KingStreet/NiteGrooves. His debut release "Hen Frequency EP" showcases his sensibility for deep and soulful journeys though tech house grooves (NiteGrooves Records CD Promo). The "Mind over Matter EP" by Jim Shimmer is quite something special as it combines the 80's electronic synthesizer sounds with Detroit techno, ambient house and progressive house. The result is unique and fresh, with all four track spreading a mesmerizing vibe (Guess Records CD Promo). Spin Science return with the massive "Freeform EP" featuring two hypnotizing tracks of the highest caliber that are guaranteed to rock any dance floor devoted to deep house with a techy edge (Cabrio Records CD Promo). We are closing this edition with "Come again" by Share F which fuses a resistless tribal groove with ragga styled vocals, perfect for peak time play in the main room (We Play house Records CD Promo).
