Yes we are late with bringing this latest volume of the Shorts Reviews and the accompanying mixshow - sorry for that.
Welcome to Volume 7 of our new format called Short Reviews on Spirit of House. Enjoy this fresh'n'deep selection of tracky house...
We are kicking things off with "Livin' in the bottle" (T*U*E Edit) by Team Underground Electric aka Big Cee and Julz Winfield, a deep tech-soul track featuring wicked atmospheric synths and sexy female vocals over a deeply rumblin' groove (CD-R). Moscow's Elastic Sound project presents "Dark Side of the Soul", a lush three track EP of sensual deep house grooves and phat chords on a slight electronic touch (Deepology Digital Records CD Promo). DJ Aphreme and Kenn Yamanaka team up for "Let's dance", a deeply thumpin' funk drenched track featuring melodic keys and chords alongside sweet female vocals. The 'DJ Aphreme Soul Mix' relaxes the groove for a laidback feeling, while the 'Luv Omatsuri Mix' is a great alteration of the main version (Next Dimension Music Records CD Promo).
The "New World / Deep Face EP" by Bernardo Garcia & Javier Gallego is the premiere release for We Play House Records. "New world" in its original form is a deep tribal track based on a deeply stompin' groove that leads the way for the wicked synths to create a hypnotic feeling, with DJ Leo aka Leoesco smoothing down the groove while not letting down the deep tribal feel of the track on his version. "Deep face" keeps the vibe deep and tribal-ish while being on a more electronic edge (CD Promo). Kyka and Chris Mil team up for "Housetrap", a warm deep house track featuring harmonic chords and synths over a deeply rumblin' groove. Jon Silva gets as deep as it gets, while Kyka serves an irresistibly kickin' rework that keeps the vibe deep. Lastly Atomic is firing things up on his energetic interpretation of the track (Cabrio Records CD Promo). Sick Jargon (Matt Robey & Jay Stephens) debut with "Beat bounce", a fidgety track on a chunky yet dirty electronic edge. Redsoul's 'Peaking Dub' turns the track into a bouncy affair featuring melodic chords, while DJ Romy reworks the track for the main floor with catchy synths over a stompin' beat (Playmore Records CD Promo).
"Heaven" by Mr Dope & Easy features sultry female vocals by Dilek Taskin over a smooth tribal flavored backing groove that is enriched with mesmerizing synths and chords. Ruben Alvarez intensifies the hypnotic feeling and adds captivating synths, while Massivedrum go deep and electronic (White Lotus Club Records CD Promo). Next we have an Exclusive Preview for you with "Adura" (Afro Teknology Mix) by DJ Serge Negri, a deep infectious afro-tech track based on a thumpin' groove that is enriched with sweet percussion elements and lush keys and chords (CD-R). Closing down this issue is "House Music" by Santi Touch, a deeply stormin' track featuring wicked synths and acid tinged chords. The 'Smoking Dub' is a deeper yet more hypnotic affair, with Pederson going even deeper while giving the track a more minimalistic yet relentless feel (Just Deep Music Records CD Promo).
