Aqua Sol follow up their global smash hit "I love you" by Cassio with Dawn Nicole's "The rhythm of my soul" which features poetic spoken words alongside deeply felt vocals. Jersey Soul use phat synths and wicked chords together with a fierce groove to create a contaminous vibe, while Big Logan strips the track back and gives the track a deepened yet minimal techy twist. Jason B keeps the vibe deep on his groovy rub loaded with lush synths and jazzy keys, with his stripped down dub being on a deeperĀ mesmeric tip. Finally, JoVonn gets deep and spell binding on his take that uses spaced-out melodies and chords. |

Those familiar with the roots of House music know that Disco, Funk and Soul played a vital role in its development and evolvement, and they are also aware that Chicago was its birthplace. House music may be the focal point of Chicago's dance music scene today, but the city always had much more to offer, and this truly unparalleled album sub-titled "Underground Disco from the Windy City" looks at the early stages of the city's dance era, featuring lots of rare in demand material which got selected by Mr. Peabody Records, a record shop in southside Chicago founded by true lovers of music who devote their time on nothing but the best in music. This album gives an incomparable insight to the local dance music scene of Chicago of said era and features many jewels that never made it outside of the city and thus will not be known to most of us. A real treasure for the music lovers we are, we gotta be grateful to both Mr. Peabody Records and BBE Records for putting this compilation together and making those timeless tunes available to a global audience for the first time. |

Japanese producer and DJ Fuminori Kagajo presents the wonderful "Jazz Spectrum EP" which is all about organic Jazz house vibes which spread an uplifting live feel on the dance floor. "Klondike" is smooth and laidback, featuring jazzy horns and lush keys over a groovy backdrop, followed by "Jazzabo" which features classy sax play and jazzy keys over a percussion driven backing. "Explorations" is a compelling excursion to into the deep creating a mesmeric feel through jazzy keys, sublime synths and the somewhat tribal-ish, African tinged rhythms. A beats tool of "Explorations" completes the package. |

Christmas came early this year, to be exact past Friday when this VIP promo package landed in my inbox. Lots of exclusive DeepCitySoul music to be discovered here, including the deep remorseless "2 day" featuring captivating female spoken words and lush keys, the intriguing Fanatix remix of "Groove school" giving the track a deep moody edge, "Love for now" by Nicc Johnson which features outstanding vocals by LT Brown and comes in a supa soulful jazz-funk drenched version by DeepCitySoul and an organic jazzy rework by Jonny Montana & Craig Stewart, the reckless underground-ish track "Mirror" and finally "Let the music", a feel good production featuring uplifting vocals and classy keys over a smooth funk drenched backing.

"Hangin' on a dream" is one of the hidden treasures from UPZ's "United People of Zion" long player released back in October 2007 through soWHAT Records, but gladly this wonderful song has been picked up by Tony Records and will be given a proper release complete with a classy selection of remixes. Rick Coffey is the featured vocalist, contributing a deeply felt, one of a kind Seal-esque performance. The soulful yet organic 'Original Mix' features enchanting keys and organ over a laidback backing, followed by the luscious 'soWHAT Mix' which oozes with exquisite keys and lovely guitars. On remix duty we have Conan Liquid whose remorselessly kickin' remix is fueled with atmospheric synth melodies and electronic keys stabs, with this 'TIG Dub' going one step further and turning the track into a monstrous electronica adventure. Next are Tony Loreto & Jacko who deliver a seductive interpretation built around a deep smooth backdrop, with the warm keys and jazzy rhodes giving the track a sublime feel. |

** Exclusive Preview **Here we've got an excellent remix package of Vick Lavender's marvelous "Another girl" which impressed us first time around with outstanding vocals by David Glenn and a masterly orchestration. Man of the moment Jose Carretas gets smooth as silk on his interpretations, combining the vocals with celestial keys and chords and a mellow yet captivating backing. Next are Vick Lavender's wonderful 'All Soul' mixes that keep the musical bliss of the original versions alive while turning the heat up with an intensified yet still soulful groove.
