Here we go with Volume 2 of our brand new format called Short Reviews on Spirit of House. There is so much fresh music out there that deserves to be heard, and of some of the tunes we've reviewed recently we thought that you should get a listen at one of the alternate versions. And then we will also use this column to feature the more techy side of things - just read ahead...

"El paraiso" by Step Mode (Juan Sanchez and Ed Lavao / Soul Seduction Music CD Promo) gets reworked by Andre Harris into a smooth yet fierce, deeply thumpin' affair featuring lovely keys and outstanding synths that altogether create a hypnotic vibe. Big Cee teams up with Julz for the deep'n'techy nevertheless soulful "Meet the dad from friday" (CD-R) which features wicked vocal samples and clever keys over a bump groove that is nothing else than absolutely resistless. Alexey Shakhrin under his Daclip disguise presents "Vanity" (Deepology Digital Records CD Promo), a deep and rather minimal track that is all about the captivating synths. The '08 Remix' is firing the vibe up with a fueled bassline and melodic chords, while Alex Douche contributes a mesmerizing, deeply groovin' interpretation featuring wicked chords.

Iwanai Music return with Yotam Avni's "Coke bouquet" which will hypnotize you with its minimal yet irresistible, slightly dirty vibe created by a deeply rumblin' beat and freaky synths and chords. The 'House Mix' turns the track into an intense tribal extravaganza, while Dirty Dale gives the track a somewhat gritty edge that keeps the feel deep (CD-Promo). "Yuki" by Hideo Kobayashi (NiteGrooves Records CD Promo) is a cool and stylish techified track featuring wicked string jabs and strings over a fiercely stormin' groove, with the dub intensifying the vibe for a more hypnotic feel. Claude Monnet and the Torre brothers (Jean Marc Torre & Patrick Torre) present their vision of modern deep house music. Both "Level 5" and "The chase" (SSOH Records CD Promo) go deep and melt techy elements with atmospheric sounds to create relentless tracks that will take over dance floors by storm.
