Here we go with Volume 13, the last edition of our Shorts Reviews and the accompanying mixshow on Spirit of House in 2008. We hope you enjoy this truly deep selection of fresh tracks...

London's Native Funk (aka Mike Schilling) presents "1980", a track bringing back memories of early days of Detroit electro breaks. The 'Leech Cold War Mix  is straight Detroit techno, edited by Jay Tripwire who slows the track down (the original is over 130bpm). Also included is the bonus track "Cosmic creatures" by the Leech with additional production by Native Funk (Grin Music Records CD Promo). Jaysun Merced reworks the 1983 classic "Beat box" by Art Of Noise into a relentless four-to-the-floor stomper that creates a hypnotic vibe (CD-R). Yohan Esprada presents the "Twenty 6" EP featuring three tracks on a deep house tip, ranging from groovy over electro-funk to atmospheric (DeepSound Records CD Promo). "The Chronicles Noir" by Tony Lionni brings you "Free your mind" and "5th cycle", two deep'n'mesmerizing, acid tinged tracks with that distinct electronic sound that made Detroit techno famous (Aesthetic Audio Records CD Promo).

"Hollywood story" by Rogiers, a r&b song in its original form featuring sexy vocals by Bilal Oliver, gets remixed by The Leech (ala Demarkus Lewis) and Maxime Cescau into a deep yet dirty tech house monster, while Sona gives it a big room makeover (Stilnovo Music Records CD Promo). Elastic Sound's "Oaklend Five" is an electronic deep house gem coming in various tasty flavors by the likes of Dave Storm, Kubatko, Heartbeats and Demarco Electronic - well worth checking out (Deepology Digital Records CD Promo). On "The Just EP", Sydney & Klod Rights enter deep techy grounds to give you two massive atmospheric tracks guaranteed to rock the floors (Just Deep Music Records CD Promo).

Christos Kedras' "Going to prevail" is a refreshing production featuring outstanding vocals over a rock edged backdrop in the original version, with Raul Campos turning the track into an atmospheric deep house track with a slight dark touch. Finally the EOTL mixes are sublime deepness, with the melody's main keys spreading a moody feel (Kapa Music Records CD Promo). "New dimension" by Soulmagic (Morten Trust & Mikkel Wendelboe) is a cheeky and dirty makeover of the Imagination classic of same name, with the electronic backdrop creating a relentless vibe (Soulmagic Records CD Promo). The "Simple Pleasures EP" by Lomez brings you four deep house tracks with a tech-soul edge that are absolutely captivating with their lovely melodies and infectious rhythms - highly recommended for late night/early morning play (Cabrio Records CD Promo).
