Tony Records open their precious vaults to bless us with an impeccable selection of gems aptly titled "Miami Uncuts 2012", some of them kept as a secret weapon for special occasions only. It all started with "The way love goes" by Dara Band with vocals by Michael Procter ten years ago, and ever since GoGo Music have been going from strength to strength. "Fly free", the 50th single release on the label is taken from Ralf GUM's forthcoming second artist album "Never leaves you" and features the legendary 'Voice of House Music' Robert Owens whose inimitable emotive vocals make this something truly special, with Ralf GUM laying down a beautifully orchestrated silky smooth yet infectious backing. On remix duty is the one and only DJ Spinna who combines some of his early influences with a futuristic touch as only he can do. You are in for a real treat with this release by Fatsouls which sees Japan's Fuminori Kagajo join forces with Nigeria's Afro Beat maestro Adeniji Heavywind for "No discussion", a thrilling afro-deep production built around percussive tribal-esque rhythms and heavenly synth melodies which together with the spell binding vocals create a hypnotizing feel. On the 'Rawtech Dub' and 'Rawtech Organ Dub' Fuminori Kagajo further intensifies the vibe for a deeper than deep extravaganza, while label head Said Adelekan contributes a marvelous truly soul-funk inspired interpretation. Finally DJ Rasoul relaxes the vibe on his gorgeous deeply groovin' rendition. Highly recommended, by no means to be missed. |
