Traxsource launches "Level 2"

In the past couple of years, Traxsource has been the #1 choice for many DJ's to get the hottest exclusives and upfront titels in House Music, as well as for classic trax from the extensive back catalogue that is available too. Building on this success, this week Level 2 has been launched offering new and exciting features, with the existing features being tweeked an beefed up to enhance customer experience. With the recent add of such labels as MAW Records and Vega Records, there are now over 300 labels represented offering legal music downloads.

2006 Chicago International House Music Festival

CDM Chicago, NFP presents MOVE! - the 2006 Chicago International House Music Festival being held on Saturday, July 22 and Sunday, July 23. The new lakefront outdoor venue Charter One Pavilion at Northerly Island will house the event from 1 PM to 11PM. The venture between CDM and the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity, Bureau of Tourism (IBOT) will showcase the genre of House music which was cultivated in the city of Chicago.

"The Chicago International House Music Festival is sure to provide a fun-filled weekend for music lovers," said Jan Kostner, IBOT Deputy Director.

  • Defected D-Fused & Digital - the first Defected digital compilaton and mix, to be complemented by a limited edition double-CD
  • Eivissa 06 - a sun-drenched collection of latin rhythms and global grooves - the balearic sound of Ibiza.

They also just started promotion for the remixes of "The way you love me" by Ron Hall & The Muthafunkaz featuring Marc Evans. The package includes the massive Dimitri from Paris remix, a fantastic Tom Moulton re-edit, and brand new mixes by David Penn and Sergio Flores. Also included is the classic original version.

FASHIONFM features "Spirit of House" mixset

After a wealth of production & remixes for the likes of Soulfuric, MN2S, Look at You, MAP Dance & Peppermint Jam.. the duo have finally given in to demand, and launched their very own label – Tempogroove Recordings is born.

Yaow, yaow, yaow… Everyone deadlining at the same time with the aim to have everything ready at the right time, which is… next week, in case you would have forgotten!!! Same situation for us here on IDMW.Com with the last answers to the questions addressed to some of the Miami attendees on their way to our mailbox. As a result this week might be seen as the calm before the storm editorially speaking although you’re not to be left alone. We’ve provided you with a selection of the best Miami events as far as our perspective is concerned titled Miami 2006 (Best Time Out). Also in the pipeline is a feature with Ultra Nate’s guest this Friday. I guess some of you may already have an idea. On the review front, we welcome Stalwart A&R man Olivier Velay makin’ his debut with a new column titled Tried & Tested. Meanwhile our InDaMix section which will be entering its 4th year in activity right after the Miami gathering adds a bit of x-tra noise around some of the latest releases to date…

Another 2 weeks and… Well I guess you coming regularly to this site should have an idea about the rest. At least as far as Miami is concerned. As for the rest, it’s another story soon to be revealed, like the subject of this week’s feature (eurgh… someone hailing from Chicago, I’ve been said!!!) as well as the thema of our Politics Of Dancing column. But shush, let’s put the words/lyrics aside with our Issue#113 goin’ (instru)mental under the Back2DaRoots banner.

Oops by the way, big ups to Canadian lighting designer/photographer Hugh Conacher for allowing us to come up with this wonderful pic of his as an illustration to this week's display (hughconacher.com). No doubt how this man should love music as well…
