Reorganization… That’s what we’re currently working on on this space with all the Q’s and probs that what such a situation suggests between our soon to be launched record shop and the search for a more appropriate space as to become our HQ. As for what to expect in the days to come on these pages, the reproduction of a chat we’ve had a while ago with NYC house icon Danny Tenaglia quite significant of today’s situation as far as dance music is concerned, the part 2 of our focus on the genesis of dance music on a British perspective for our French speaking readers alongside the return of DJ ADN with his regular editorial (The Other Side). Meanwhile MFSB drops the second instalment of the Back 2 Da Roots column the name of which speaking for itself.

News October 9, 2005

On September 24, Sabrynaah Pope, a very talented sing, passed away. She has been the featured vocalist on many timeless house classics, such as "It works for me", "Hold on", "I need shelter" and just recently on "In love again". May she rest in peace and condolences to his loved ones.

Watch out for a review of "Remixed - Sampler Part 3" by Roy Ayers on BBE Records 2x12" Promo. It features mixes by Mr. V, Pepe Bradock and more. Another hot taster for the forthcoming Roy Ayers remix longplayer.

Welcome to the new "Spirit of House" website

Welcome to the new Spirit of House website. This is not just a redesign, in fact the whole website is now based on a Content Management System (CMS) - so it could also be described as the rebirth of Spirit of House. Most importantly, the design is now separated from the content, allowing much easier updating of the look of the site.

There are some important changes that should make the content easier accessible:

  • the Latest News box on the frontpage will give you direct access to the last added articles and news
  • the Picks of the Week, 12" Reviews, Album Reviews and Classic Tips are now combined into Music Reviews
  • only content from 2005 has been added to the CMS - the content from 1996 to 2004 is available through the Archive link in the top menu

I hope you like the new look - enjoy your stay.

Regards,
Michael Fossati
